I have a stud that the threads are buggered. Does anyone know of a external type helicoil. What I would like is a helicoil which tightens to the stud with a reverse locking thread then I could go oversize on the helicoil with normal nut and retighten without removing the stud because as the nut tightens it would tend to tighten the helicoil to the original stripped stud shaft. Hopefully this makes sense. Thanks I may have explained this wrong but hopefully everyone gets the idea.

A stud is designed to take the wacks so the parent material does not. Studs are expendable and should be replaced if boogered.

Replace the stud or run a die down it.

It's on my 06 dodge and I'm to lazy to take the stud out so I thought I would ask. I know I should. Not a lot of torque and the nut is half inch. I guess no one makes what I'm looking for just for that reason. If you do know of something please let me know and I will keep looking.
