What's the best way to replace the rubber accordion boot between the intake tube and the carb air box? I already put the carb air filter box and carb trumpets on. There isn't really a lot of gap between the air box and the intake tube. I also need to get the metal bands back on too. Do I need to take the air box out again? thanks

I just did this recently after changing the idle jets. I left the boot attached to the air conveyor with the bands in place. Once you reinstall the air box, simply attach the boot. It takes a little fiddling but nothing too difficult. I would imagine that you can still install the boot even though the air box has been installed. Work from underneath one side at a time, the boot is very pliable and will bend easily.

you guys were right, I was able to get the rubber boot on... I realized the metal straps come apart, so I could get the boot on and then deal with the metal straps afterward!

You don't even need the metal bands. I left the top one off to make R&R of the airbox, fractionally easier.

true, it's a snug fit. I put them back on for originality. Hoping not to have to take the airbox off again soon.
