Cable snapped at the release (fortunately as it opened for the last time!). Doesn't appear from the fiche (or the actual parts) that the cable can be reattached to the eyelet so Ricambi is sending a new cable. Did some searching but didn't find really HOW to replace it/thread the new.

Anyone been through this, have any tips/guidance?

    Thx. :)

I just did the cable for the hood and am about to do the rear one as well. Basically you just pull the old one out and push the new one in but of course in real life it is more of a project. The trick is how the cable is locked in at the locks, mine had some additional clamps besides the screws that clamp the cable within the lock mechanism. The screw that is part of the lock mechanism is not that strong and I am sure in some locks it is worn out, so having an additional clamp right next to the original one is a good idea. I got my cable from GT carparts, it worked out very well for the front after adjusting the tension between the locks etc. I can't believe how well it works now compared to how it was before with the old cable.

It is a quite simple process, but make sure you adjust the cables correctly before actually closing the lid.
You can simulate closing the catches by simply pushing them down by hand and realeasing them the normal way.
My car is RHD, and I make sure the left catch releases slightly before the right one. The right one (drivers side) has the emergency cable attached to it as well, but if the drivers side opens first, travel of the cables may be limiting the left one (single cable) to open, which would cause real head- and wallet aches.

If you're unsure, take the rear lights out before you close the lid first time, so you can reach the locks if they don't open with the releases.
