I removed the seats from my 355 Spider to have them redone and when I reinstalled them they no longer go to the correct position when putting the top up or down. I sense they need to be "reset" so the ECU knows where they are and will allow the top to work properly. Important to note that everything worked fine prior to the removal of the seats. Is there a procedure to reset the seats?

    Thanks!

Yes, Needs to be done with the SD1.

You can reset them without the SD1 also. Off the top of my head, you would need to undo the front bolts holding the seats in, then motor them all the way forward (must go all the way forward). Then unbolt the rear bolts holding the seats in. Then turn your battery switch off. Then disconnect the wires going to the seat motor and the seat potentiometer.

Pull the seats out. Open the potentiometer and set it to 4.4 k Ohms, and then re-assemble the potentiometer. It's sort of the middle steps of the seat potentiometer repair thread I did a while back. I'll find it and post a link.

If you do have access to an SD1, it will be a faster and more accurate way of re-setting things though.
