    Hello:

On my '84 Mondial Coupe, I am wanting to replace flexible aluminum air pipes leading from the passenger side air intake to the alternator and differential. (One of the pipes leads to the rear of the alternator, and the other leads to just in front of the differential.)

I've spent some time looking under the car, and I can't figure out exactly how the pipes route to their respective locations. Also, which pipe goes where?

I've attached a photo of the disentagrated tubes on my car. I've also attached a diagram of the alternator showing where one of the pipes attaches. I couldn't find a diagram showing the other pipe at the differential. One small note regarding my car... While trying to figure out how the pipe routes to the alternator, I saw where the protective plate has been rubbing on the alternator fan. Not good. I'm going to loosen the plate tonight and try to bend it out of the way a bit...

Does anyone know how the pipes route? Does anyone have any photos from their car?

    Thanks!

Are you sure they aren't or shouldn't be aimed at the Cats? At least the one you have labeled as "differential". I'm sure someone who know for sure will be along soon.

    No cats. (Euro car.)

One hose goes to the alternator (as seen in the diagram) and one to the differential. I know that one goes to the differential as there is a mounting bracket at the differential containing a hose remnant. (I also researched Ferrarichat and found discussion about the hose going to the differential. I just can't see how the routing goes.)

    Thanks.

Oh, here's a diagram showing the air pipe going to the alternator. (And showing the protection plate that is rubbing, or has rubbed, against the alternator fan.)

The rear hose is intended to direct air to the RH, inboard, CV joint.
