That air scoop simply has to go. While I can't argue with its functionality, it seems to me that the aesthetic offense is not worth the power gain (whatever it is). Call me old fashioned, but I think race cars should be beautiful too....
Here's another spectacularly modified 308: http://www.fantasyjunction.com/used-cars.php?id=e2228199d312cfdf6bf9008e977f22e4
that's just wrong.... on both counts. I mean I kinda like the GTO conversions I've seen. There are so many 308s out there that it doesn't seem all that sacrilegious to modify a few. As long as it's tasteful.... but geez. those are just plain fugly!
How much you wanna bet those small intake openings -- ESPECIALLY on the black car -- are limiting the engine's potential? Not to mention increasing aerodynamic drag. Very poor execution IMO.
Come on. This is no butchering. We've all seen far, far worse things done to a 308. If you read the description the race treatment is not unreasonable.
It reminds me of the kind of sketches I used to draw when those cars were new. The look seems more fitting to a Lamborghini than a Ferrari. Not something for me, but I'm sure someone will go for it. BT
Not for long if we keep seeing things like this. In the long run, a stock 308 might be worth a couple of bucks more. Only time will tell.
Franck, This is the car Sheehan had too for an $80s something number, right? Interesting marketing tactic. You know the old saying about a fool and his money... Philip
