    That is correct. They won't accept it if you tell them that it's jewelry. On the other hand, you can tell them that it's a $30k electronic part and they won't bat an eye.

    I'd suggest you work out a deal with a jewelry store in the city where the diamond is. Ask them to ship it for you, pay their expenses plus a little extra. They have deals worked out with their insurance.
