I would not bother with the rear light conversion, it looks a bit like a kit car modification.

The stock wheels suck as you say in the States, 355 wheels are real nice (it`s just finding some),512tr a good choice, HRE`s look good (see Kevallino`s car), BBS challenge wheels are real nice. 348 GTC wheels are good but hard to find.

Not all five spoke wheels look good on a 348, Speedlines being one of these, 360 wheels look ok on a 360, but nothing else (shame about that because they are easy to find & cheap)!!

Any money left after the wheels, buy the pedals from Paul Hil. Keep the stock wheels just in case you sell in the future.

    Regards,
    Phil.

The tail light conversion is one of the FIRST things I would personally do if I had a 348. Much more "Ferrari-ish".

Collin, since you helped me find my 348 I feel I owe you something in return.

So I'm offering you my advice, which I know is worth very little.

I think the tail light conv. is OK but what distinguishes the 348 from the other Fcars is the rear end. It's unique to the Ferrari 348's.

The stock wheels on the 348 are extremely heavy I've noticed, compared to other stock rims I've dealt with. When I first took off a rear wheel on my 348, I was amazes how heavy it was and then had a hell of a time getting it back on because of its weight.

Go with a lighter wheel that is made for Ferrari's.

    Just my $$ worth,

    john

    Well guys,
Collin just bought my 355 wheels! Congratulations and thanks they were just taking up space in the garage and I have no intention of ever putting the car on the track or switching the wheels. It is great to be able to do these kind of deals with folks who share the same sickness (Ferrari's). I'm going to pack them up as soon as I can and get them to you. Just post a picture when you get them on the car! Here is a picture of what I have on the 355 today. Enjoy the drive!

Wow. Those are sharp wheels, Scott. I wonder if those are the "challenge" wheel that I have seen? Very sharp. Thanks again for the great deal on your other 355 wheels.

Well, go out and put them on the 348 and take some pictures already...:)

Congrats on the wheels - IMHO they look great on the 348s. If you're going to do the 355 rear panel please try to do it with the taillamps mounted properly instead of using that fiberglass panel with the taillamps at the wrong angle.

    Better yet, do this...

    Cheers

I just spent my $2K "bonus" for Scot's wheels. The tail lamp conversion is now off the table.

For what little you are likely to get for the 348 wheels/tires, you would be much better off keeping them. The next owner may not care for your taste in wheels. ;)

BTW, the Speedline wheels I was recommending is the "magnesio", you can see it listed here:
    http://www.performancewheelsupplies.ltd.uk/ferrari/main.htm

I think it was the "aliseo" (17" variant) that was used on the 348 Competizeone sold in Europe.

Actually, these are Speedline wheels. I recently bought the remainder of inventory from Speedline and I have over 40 wheels, including the last set of new wheels like the ones I put on my car (now Scott's car). I also have two pairs of Speedline spline lock TR wheels, Speedline 3 piece 550 wheels, and a bunch of the Speedline 360 challenge wheels (like the BBS wheels) and some others.
