I have an idea or concept for a new type of beer. The concept is not on the market now. I do not intend or want to brew any beer myself. Does anyone here know of a brewery that manufactures or sub-contracts to brew and package private label beers (as a subcontractor)? I am a patent attorney and can't patent the idea, though I can tradmark the name. Trademark protection for a concept does not work well as another brewery can simply design the same beer concept and name it something different. I may try to present the concept to some large brewerys under non-disclosure terms, but my guess is they will not be willing to sign such an agreement (I will try and post back). I thought of posting here since there may be someoen on this site that know the brewing industry and may have some suggestions about how to go about exploring this. I may post in the business and investments section as well.

    Thanks.

    Barry,

I don't know anybody in the mainline brewing industry but I do know some guys who have a small brewery in South FL. They tinker constantly with new styles. You may want to reach out to them to see if a similar product has ever been offered or if they will do a test batch of your concept.

    Their website is www.brewsouth.com

    Good luck.
