A fellow Fchatter and myself tried to take off the Parking brake caliper yesterday on my 2002 360. We were trying to eliminate a brake squeal from the right rear which can be heard when driving slowly without any pressure on the brake pedal and the E-brake fully disengaged. We took off the inner and outer brake pads and beveled the leading edge of the pads. We wanted to take off the parking brake pads to inspect but we could not figure out how to release the pads or dismantle the caliper on the parking brake. There is a pin but it cannot be tapped from outside to inside and there is no way to tap it from inside to out (as far as we can see). There are 2 allen wrench bolts of which we could access and remove the top one but the lower inside one is so difficult to access, I can only imagine that a special tool must be needed to get to it. Does anybody have any ideas / suggestions? We also think that perhaps I have a warped rotor which is causing the light squeal.

Wow! Thank you thank you for the link to the manual.
You have to remove the tie rod at the car so you can swivel the hub out to get access to the caliper bolts.
    Thanks!
    :)

Mike- Yup, read that but figured it would be easier for you to have the manual and photos to do it yourself.

    Thanks Taz,

SoftwareDrone was the one helping me with the parking brake. Thanks for the link. Looks like SoftwareDrone saw your post before I did.

    Best Regards,
    Doug
