I am trying to source the original color of #25229 (European GTB dry sump) with no success. The car is prepared for new paint but I am unable to determine the original color as would be preferred. Are there any available "free" sources or do i need to contact Ferrari and pay for the spec sheet?

    Best regards Peter

I called FOD with the VIN and asked them the original colors (interior, ext, etc.) of the car. They looked everything up and told me over the phone in seconds. No charge.

It used to be the case that if you registered at ferrari.com and specified your car in the my ferrari section the original colors etc would appear (eventually)

When you find out list it here http://www.r-design.net/308/index_e.html

Ferrari Beverly Hills told me they couldn't do it with a '78. So I guess it depends on year.

    THIS is a correct answer.

At the FACTORY website, you have to take the trouble to register, and enter your VIN.

After a time (in true Italian fashion) you can return, log in, and MAGIC, someone has taken the time to confirm your build date, and the original colors, interior and exterior, related to your VIN number.

    Try it!!!

They did it, at the Factory website, for my 1976, and both of my 1977s.

I had the exact same question about 4 months ago. I sent a mail to a local dealer And they gave me the requested info after 3 days. Free of any charge. 2/77 euro dry sump.

My car used to be gray ( do not know the exact code by head) And that will be iTS color again after the repained planner for next year.

Guess that depends on the whims or Maranello. They did one of my cars, but my Cali they just won't add. I just added two vintage F cars, we'll see if they show. It's cheaper than paying Ferrari to issue an "official letter" via the dealer.
