I have tried in vain to get my music to download to my HD in my Ferrari. I have tried different types of HDs, e.g. CF card, actual external HD, etc., with no luck whatsoever. What kind of disk is required and what kind of formatting, e.g. FAT32, and will it see all types of file formats? I believe I need to attach a disk that it will read first, then download those files to my HD. Any input is appreciated.

I’ve never used the HD drive but wouldn’t mind knowing the answer to this one as well.

I’m hunting for the same answer. Has anyone been able to download from a USB to the Lusso HD?

So…I had a discussion with my mechanic yesterday about the loading of music into the Lusso HardDrive. We did not have the exact answer but the strategy is to have the files in the compatible format and all will work as needed (similar to downloading an mp3 file on the 458).

Now the puzzle to solve is which format is the one. Surely one of us Lusso owners has the answer.

My next step is to save various formats on a few USB sticks and just do it by trial and error.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

I loaded all tracks in mp3 format from one album onto a USB stick and the Lusso HD recognized the songs.

Even presented the option to load single song playing or entire album.

All loaded. Next trial will be a larger scale download of songs from different artists.

    More to follow soon.

Good work. How's the playback sound?

I was also able to figure it out, but so far can only download one song at a time. Ideally, I could copy everything on the external thumb drive into the internal hard drive at one time. If you know how to do this, please advise

The playback was OK, not the best. My initial impression is that the iPhone syncing with ApplePlay sounds better but I have not given it a full and fair critique yet.
There may be a higher quality mp3 transfer from source to USB stick that I am not aware of and could result in a better sound quality once its transfered to the Lusso. Any input here from others would be helpful.

Given the availability of CarPlay (factory or dealer installed), I'm wondering if it is worth the trouble.

I really like the option of not having to deal with my cell phone and focus on the car and listen to the music from the hard desk.
