I love the little beep-beep horn on the 328, but it doesn't make much of an impression in traffic. I had a bigass diesel-style horn on the old X1/9 that made people pay attention!

What I'd like to do is make the horn beep like normal, but if I'm laying on the button for more than a few seconds bring in a big horn.

    Any suggestions?

Well, I once saw an old Rockford Files where Jim's dad got put into an insane asylum, and the chief mad scientist had a Dino 246...Jim put an aerosol boat horn into the car and the doctor's assistant goons came out and tore all the wiring out of it before they discovered it was NOT the actual Dino horn...

Huh? My 328 came with Fiamm air horns.

My Alfa Spider, however, came with little Walter Mitty "excuse me, meep" horns. ;)
I got a set of air horns (not Fiamms, alas) as a present. When I light those truck horns up, I can see the roof dimple, as the other driver jumps out of his seat. :p

The Alfa shop rigged up a three way switch -- left for "meep", right for air horn, and center for both.

In practice, I leave it in center. The compressor takes a moment to spin up, so a tap on the horn just gives a "it's green" meep, while holding it longer fires up the "hey, there's someone already in this lane" air horn.
