Well Hotwheels had the exclusive license from Ferrari for a long time so many are Hotwheels. I have a lot of pre-Hotwheels ones by BBurago and Maitso (the latter being slightly higher quality). Minichamps is my favorite maker and makes some limited edition ones. Tamiya made my 1:12 F50 and makes great models and Pocher made my 1:8 scale F40.

Generally, I think Kyosho, Autoart, Ertl, and UT are about the best mass producers of 1:18 diecast models, with Minichamps the best of limited production ones.

Have you noticed how many Mercedes/AMG SEL cars are on that list? They can't all be for the personal use of the Sultan... cars used by the government must surely be listed under his personal assets. Who needs several hundred Mercedes/SEL cars for their personal use?

Also, I'm fairly certain that cars used by other royal members of his family have their assets in his name under the crown, don't they?

Now that's a very nice and tasteful garage. :D

My dream garage (at the moment) would include a Ferrari 348, a Ferrari 550, and a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro. That last one is subject to change, as I seem a bit fickle at times. :p

And if there's room, I wouldn't mind a Bentley Continental GT either. ;)

For now, I have a SmartCar that snuggles up next to the MINI on the driveway. :)

    All the best,
    Andrew.

    199 Ferraris? Seriously? 10 TR Spyders? All 3 Mythos prototypes? 6 custom FXs. 8 F50s. 46 456s heh. 11 F40s. 4 288 GTOs.

At first I was in disbelief...but know I realize that Ferrari probably just has a standing open order with where he'll pay any amount of money for their prototypes and one of every model combination they make. That is a good customer.

it's the same fascination that makes people watch "Hoarders" or other similar shows; except it is luxury cars and not Smurfs figurines and old newspapers.

What I find so captivating about his collection is that it seems temporary, in a sense. I await the day when the bulk of it will be sold and the world will have lots of "new" super-cars. I think it's only natural to be obsessed with knowing more about a collection that just sits and rots.

This fire-sale fantasy is quickly dashed by the fact that they're right-hand-drive!

How could they NOT be neglected?

Hoarding is collecting under a mental illness. Just because you CAN doesn't mean
    you SHOULD.

    Dear Ferraristi,

Wow....I use that phrase in my personal life.....it keeps me grounded.

Sure, if times were better, I would love another Lamborghini...but would I do with 3 exotics....

....just fulfilling a mental image but with no practical applications.

This just flies in the face of everything I think supercar ownership should be.

He singlehandedly financed Ferrari throughout the 90s.

Perhaps this is what you do when you are the head of a small country but lack the means to entertain yourself with a war?
