I nominate ^that guy^ for Mr. Ad-Lib o' th' month.
It would be nice (unless it exist and I just don't know where/how to use it) to be able to have a way to save links to your favorite threads within FChat. Similar to using "Favorites" on the browser, except that as you go to place to place and use different computers, you will always have does easily reachable. My 0.02. Thanks!
If you go to the top of any thread there is a drop down menu called "thread tools". In that area you can click on "subscribe to thread", which will do exactly what you want. To access it again, you go to the quick links options on the very top toolbar. Hope that helps.
not sure if its been mentioned before, but create a mobile version!! the forum takes ages to load on a mobile device..
Requesting embedding youtube again! I notice some sites have it as an option but still have html off. People just need to use the tags and the id of the vid! The only issue I see is auto-start vids. Forza Ferrari
I know it has been discussed before, but I haven't seen or heard of any advances towards it. What happened with the Music & Movies (Entertainment) section or sub-section?
Can we reduce the wait time for searching the forum to 0? Rediculous if I mistype a word have to 30 sec or so to do the next search.
I expect it's to limit the amount of CPU cycles and disk IO calls the searches take from the servers. You don't want a batch of searches freezing up the regular forum functions.
Keeps haterz from pounding *search* all day, thus keeping our frantic searcher, Harold, from being going postal again. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Or at least auto-wrapping of text, so you can enlarge text on your mobile without the need for horizontal scrolling.
This is a bit of a random one... but I was looking for links to the FerrariChat rules and terms of service, and the only place I recalled seeing them (and being able to access them) was in Rob Lay's signature. Perhaps you could add a little link for each in the Quick Links tab? Presumably, this would be easy to do and would make them easier to access quickly. Either that, or Rob could make them more prevalent by posting with the frequency of PAP. All the best, Andrew.
Here is a good idea. Posts would have a thank you button and instead of posting a reply saying just "thank you", just hit button and your name added to list. This would be helpful for those type of threads, but not sure what % of our posts would apply and if just a distraction for the majority.
Turn on the "Forum Jump" feature at the bottom of threads. This is a drop down with a list of all forums, defaulted to the one you're currently reading. Single click to return to the main forum page or two clicks to jump to any forum. Using the Top link, then breadcrumbs is cumbersome.
some good news on the mobile front, I had waited on vB 4.x that was supposed to have mobile version built in, not only does it not have one yet, but people aren't that happy with 4 anyway. sticking with 3 for the time being over the next week we'll implement tapatalk. that said I have been using FerrariChat on my BlackBerrys for years with no problems.
I just downloaded the tapatalk app because I got a pop-up what I went to fchat from my phone that said the forum was iPhone native on that app. I just searched for fchat in the app and nothing came up. Any idea what is wrong?
