What Rob said. I have been logged on over an entire weekend without being booted off....in fact, I've never been booted off.
Yep. I tried getting round it by making the post then going back & editing -> go advanced -> manage attachments (again). It let me upload a second pic, but overwrote the first! I think this may be a new issue in IOS, if you're, let's say 'replying' to someone and then go to another tab in the (Safari at least) browser, when you return to Fchat it's a blank page and your typing is gone! Really annoying in a long post! I've tried going back & reloading, but all my hard work seems to have vaporized! I don't think it used to behave that way(?) Cheers, Ian
Plenty of others though! I'll live with it..... Actually, I should add it doesn't seem to be consistent - I did it again recently kinda by accident but when I returned all was still good. I *suspect* it may be if I'm away long enough for it to log me out. Certainly not going to get me to defect anyway! Cheers, Ian
Have a special section for road trips. Doesn't matter what kind of car as long as its interesting. Nothing like great road trip stories & photos.
That reminds me - Did anyone ever see the site motiveclub.com ? It was all about road trips, had a lovely layout and so forth. Though it had been up since 2003, apparently, it is no more. I can only guess that aside from requiring editorial time, it was slowing down progress in donations to worthy causes that were made along other "Motive" channels that Ron Flint has lined up. He's always had his head on straight. ------- I've often wondered if a Road Trip Linking Page to Current/Upcoming Road Trip stickies within Subforums (Regional, Tipo, Cause or otherwise) might make a good Landing Page on this site. Stylize it like the Sponsors page, replete with Photo & Descriptions for each participating Road Trip. Done right; Sharp, Current, and keeps participants informed. Oh, my. Only downside that's kept me from broaching subject; In these litigious times . . . If somebody is irresponsible, does FC bear any responsibility or liability of any kind. If so, Hell, no. If no, Hello. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Would like to see a ferrari sales search. Other than ebay, the classifieds here, and endless Internet searches, is there a good search site avaible? For example would like to type in the year, model, color and have a nationwide list of vehicles that match.
+1 for not logging a user out so quickly. Fchat seems to log me out quicker than my online banking! +1 for being able to post slightly larger photos. When you upload now, it makes them pretty darn small. I understand the reasons not to have them huge, but I believe a small increase is due. Love the site guys, keep up the good work!
This looks very good already. Maybe some more color on the website. It looks slightly mechanical and less excitable.
A browser issue but does not occur on any other website? Perhaps selecting the "remember me" just keeps you from seeing what is going on. You are still logged out at the same short interval, but you are logged back in and don't know it. Not a web expert here, and I know it was posted already.. hence the +1 Thank you gentlemen!
look at the bottom left drop down for some color options. we try to keep pretty clean and simple looking by default.
I'm new to the site and couldn't search all 83 pages of this post to see if anyone commented on the following but I would like to have a section for technical instructions or links to info on certain model specific repairs or maintenance like changing clutch system, belts, fuel injector cleaning, brakes, shocks, suspension repairs for owners who have Ferraris out of warranty. I would imagine that there are Ferrari owners that are either motor heads or mechanics out there that could easily do some of these replacements without much trouble with access to proper procedures and tips.
Some model specific users have created master link threads (usually stuck in that model specific forum), they list all the DIY threads, tips, parts x-ref etc. Some model specific groups have done better than others organizing this. You can also search, but search engine can be tricky how you use it. Honestly, it isn't a big deal to just ask even if it has been asked a bunch before. The DIY guys will love to reply and help you out. The professional techs will love to laugh at your "dumb question" and berate you for trying it yourself.
It is already fantastic.. but it would be really helpful and maybe eliminate mis information if the posters was required to at least state the country they lived in .. I understand some people may not want to say the city or state but at least the country would add a lot of value to some of the threads ..I know you could easily verify the country.. LarryH
