It is an improvement over the old software. I have noticed that the price doesn't enter and saw thqat in other peoples ads. Thanks for the service Rob
I like the change but it seems like it's taking a while for people to catch on. there were so many ads before. Now there are only a few. In time I think it will be really nice.
I DO like the new ads. - Might suggest allowing for up to six pictures in postings - Software error in showing price, the first go around, as noted earlier. - Color scheme is a little bold for me. - Suggest replacing "condition" with "location" - more value to viewers - Recent / random ads kinda cool! Would still advocate having some sort of tag noting dealer sales, versus private party sales. Overall, great implementation. Augustine, part of the reason for the smaller number of ads is probably due to the fact that now, only subscribed members can post, as opposed to previously, when anybody could.
There are 71 ads so far after only one week. There was a bug in the old software that kept ads there for sometimes 4-6 months. Also, only subscribed users can post ads, so hopefully that takes care of some quality and spam issues.
Good idea. I'm not seeing an error in the price. Please explain more or screen prints. Which site are you looking at? It was red, but as of last night it matches the FC styple. Do you have FC set to something other than the default grey style? Yes, have you checked out the new zip code functionality since last night though?
I like it very much - seems slow moving though. In fact FC in general seems slow.?? Great work - thanks!
Yes, we're looking into it. Our server load averages are no where near that of the old servers, but they are higher this week now that FerrariAds.com is running on the new server. It may take a couple weeks to get all the server config info compiled and then sent off to experts for analysis. Server Load Averages 1.19 0.98 0.89 | 272 Users Online (198 members and 74 guests) I would like to see them around 0.50
the price problems seems to be when creating the ad you enter the price you want for the car and then when you submit the ad it doesn't show up.
I agree, the ability to post multiple photos is a great improvement as well as the thumbnail pics on the main pages
When you put a price in initially and post, the price category shows "Best Offer." You then have to go in and edit the ad, re-input the price, and repost, which is when it shows up. At least that was the experience for a few of us. Don't know if that has been corrected. Looks great now. Need to test - if we input once and then the distance is automatically calculated for each ad we view, that is great. If we need to input our zip for each ad, would suggest reverting to a location field instead.
Rob, I generally like the new ad section and have been able to use it twice already. It is not as coherent as the old style, but maybe thats just all the pics. I am glad you are open to suggestion and always trying to improve the site. You have done a great job, imo, lately. My only issue if that everything is slower now. I mentioned that to a moderator in passing and they agreed. I wonder if others experience that or if there is something in my settings that is slowing it down. Any ideas on how to determine this? John
Same problem here. How do I edit my ad? I haven't figured it out yet and I'm starting to feel kinda dumb...
I don't think the site is REALLY slow, but it isn't where I want it and where it has been off and on the past few weeks. Hopefully the additional load of FA hasn't caused it to slow down, but I'm checking. So first I'm looking at the config of everything. If it still isn't where I want, then simple, we'll add Db servers, web servers, load balancers, and particle mist decombatilers until it performs great. Won't happen overnight though.
I agree Rob. It isn't REALLY slow, but it has taken a significant step-down from the BLAZING speeds experienced before. This has been noticed by a number of us, and really started after the server was put back online after the crash - don't think it has anything to do with FA. Before, you used to click on a link, and you'd get instant loadup. Now, there is often a two - four second lag. Not dial-up type speeds. But definitley noticeable to us broadband guys.
Are you talking about since last Monday when the drive filled up because of the backup and down all morning?
Um, we're not even on the same server as most of that time. We've only been on this server a few weeks.
