This thread is intended for those of us who may actually care to get updates on how Roland Linder is doing. So, is there anyone with an update? If you happen to be reading this: Hope your doing well Roland.
All in all Roland is doing well.. I am going to bet that the people close to rolan including myself are not going to get into to many details, and dont want to create a lot of gossip etc.. I spoke to Roland this morning, and he is doing well, and still recouping from all the work he had done on his shoulder. As you could imagine with snow we had, it is a task on its own to get the snow removed. I will be sure to pass along the info in your post the next time I speak with him. Cheers, -a
hate to be out of the loop, but i don't have an idea about the situation. Hope all is well though! I might have to bring out my "special" picture with me and his car.... E
I hope to see Roland again at a track soon. BTW, what ever became of the "Gotta Have-it TV" deal? Dave
I have the Video, is pretty cool, I will digitize it and put it up on the web. Not sure what happened with the TV show itself, if they ever made it past the pilot stages or not, but the segment was really cool. -a
Very glad to learn Roland is doing well. Is he behaving himself or does he overdo it once in a while?
As the saying goes, "You can't keep a good man down." I am sure he is bustin it to get back behind the wheel. Wish him the best, as I would anyone.
Yes, that I understand. But, from time to time I find myself asking what is going on with Roland. I have never met him in person, but he has been a big part of the F-Chat community. Before joining, I lurked here for quite a while and feel that I have gotten to know him somewhat. And just find myself saying I hope Rolands surgery recovery is going reasonably well. I know that it hasn't gone quite as he hoped, but I am wishing him well.
I talked to Roland this morning, he is feeling better much better, he had surgery this past Wednesday, non shoulder related for an infection. Due to this infection, his surgeons have moved his shoulder surgery(#2) to July. He is planning on joining us in Las Vegas for the ExotiCorso! Leslie
I for one miss him here and at FCARMR functions. Thank goodness I have his bobble-head likeness to remind me.
I've not visited here for some time, as my 360 got sold, still regret that, but there were a couple of issues that had to be resolved (long story, Ill post that unfortunate story in a different thread). But, since the departure, (hope to have a replacement F-car soon), Ive replaced it with a highly modified Porsche 996TT. So that brings me to my question. In my F forum absence, I didn't know about Roland's surgery, so Im behind on whats going on. Hope hes doing as well as reported here on the forum. In my few previous emails/PMs with him, he seems like a really great guy, although Ive yet to meet him personally. Anyway, to continue, my life long buddy from Nebraska and I are planning on tracking our Twin Turbos in early June here in Colorado. Is Rolands driving school still active and does someone have a contact name and number so we can get this scheduled? Best wishes to Roland! Please pass along any info, or, if necessary alternate instructors in the Colorado area. Thanks! Bill
I hope all is well with him, i just saw him earlier today watching F1. He was on that Mother's commercial with his awesome F40. Steven.
We lost three tracks last year, really only two left, Pueblo and La Junta. It's off to Miller Motor Sports Park June 3-4 for most of us! Take the Twin Turbos and head West to SLC!
I heard the same. Hasn't been confirmed though. I'd hate to see him leave Colorado... Hope Roland's doing well, he's a great guy.
I was with Roland this past weekend, and yes, for health reasons he has sold the ranch. I can't give you any more details than that.
Roland certainly deserves credit for advancing the enthusiasm for Ferrari and the passion he has for driving. It is my hope that while he is leaving Colorado, that he does stay involved with cars and more importantly his Ferrari friends all over the US. Best wishes to you Roland. Your friend and former student, Chris
