I JUST GOT A CALL FROM ONE OF MY HOTELS SAYING THEY CANT FIND THE 40 CASES OF AA BATTERIES THEY ORDERED FOR THEIR DOOR LOCK BATTERY SWITCH... I PROVIDED THEM WITH PROOF OF DELIVERY AND AN EMPLOYEE SIGNATURE FROM FED-EX THAT THEY RECEIVED IT... THE ENGINEER ASKED THE NAME OF THE SIGNATURE, I RESPONDED, HE SAID THEY WERE FIRED MONDAY, AND NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PAYMENT WTF ?? IM I CRAZY, OR IM I READING THIS CORRECTLY FINAL ANSWER FROM THE CHIEF ENGINEER.."IF YOU DONT DUPLICATE THE LOST SHIPMENT, THEN ILL BE FORCED TO USE ANOTHER VENDOR" I TOLD HIM "AINT GOING TO HAPPEN, AND MERRY XMAS" I JUST WROTE A LETTER TO MARRIOTT, DC ABOUT HIM AND THE HOTEL.. IM GOING HOME AND HITTING THE BOTTLE NICE WEKEND GUYS BRUCE
Sorry to hear about that Bruce. Don't worry about it the higher ups will straighten that guy out. If not I will be there with my F@#king tools
LET [EDIT] OOPS.. FEDEX [END EDIT] BUST THEIR ASS. IF THE STUFF GOT THERE, AND THEY ARE DENYING DELIVERY, THEN FEDEX WILL SEARCH HIGH AND LOW FOR IT. WHEN UPS SHOWS UP, EITHER THEY HAVE TO LIE TO FEDEX, OR THEY HAVE TO OWN UP TO LOSING THE BATTERIES. EITHER WAY, YOU COME OUT ON TOP. DESPITE THAT, IT DOES, ONCE AGAIN, PROVE THAT PEOPLE SUCK, AND WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU EVERY CHANCE THEY GET. SO, WHY DON'T WE TAKE ABOUT 30 OR 40 D CELLS, AND HAVE THEM CAREFULLY INSERTED IN THIS GUY'S BATTERY SLOT. I KNOW JUST THE GUY FOR THE JOB. HAVE ONE FOR ME!!! DAVE
The guy that said he was not going to pay the invoice is a prick. You should get satisfaction when you 'kick it upsatairs' to corporate. I hope you had some sort of confirming order prior to shipment though.
HEY BROTHER DAVE ITS FED EX ANYWAY I THINK ILL SEND HIM SOME LITHIUM BATTS..THE DO A BETTER JOB HI PAT!!!
FedEx requires a signature at delivery unless you ask that it be waived. Without a signature, neither FedEx nor the recipient can take responsibility for the parcel. With a signature, on site, no less - the responsibility is theirs. FedEx doesn't require ID - however, the signature is the ID. Doesn't matter if it's batteries. If a case of Ketel One was signed for by a former employee pretending to still work at a store or bar, that would not be the shipper's problem or expense. You have the burden of proof, which is the electronic signature. It is available for them to see - send them the link to that shipment's confirmation. They'll see what they have is, in fact, not a case of batteries, but a case of theft. Their former employee is not your problem or expense. Reiterate: If you haven't already, send them the link to the FedEx delivery confirmation page. That'll shut 'em up.
Just another piece of #$@% you got to eat to keep the ba$tards happy. I eat soooo much on a regular basis, and unfortunately it hurts my opinion of people in general. Just send them another case, then bill them for another in a week, their book keeping will miss it, and if they don't, just show the two reciepts for the batterys, say no problem just send a case back and you will credit them back.
He sent forty (40) cases. An equal amount were signed for. On site. It's their problem. Not his. The moment that Manager got off the phone with Bruce, he should have called the cops on the former employee.
You have completed your side of the transaction. You have proof that the merchandise was delivered. This guy is going to get hammered by his superiors once this comes to light. You did everything right....No need to argue...just a simply 'nope, not gonna happen'. Though what this guy is doing is not correct, he probably is being stuck between a rock and a hard place himself...but thats not your problem or concern...your concern is Wellington Batteries. I am curious though about the former employee. Was he a current employee when he signed for them and then became a former employee or was he a former employee even when he signed for them. And if it was the latter, what was he doing signing for the package (he is in big sh*t if he did that). Im sure the engineer is under a lot of pressure, but he is barking up the wrong tree. The employee is who he should be after not you...and if it is more about a NEED for the batteries, then he should ask for another order, expedited, and be willing to pay for them....and sort this mess out as facts come to light. But everyone on this board is guilty of making a bad decision at one time or another...... I would just like to know what his intent was.
It's Marriott's problem- their employee representative signed for the shipment transferring the ownership of the product to them. What ever happens after that point can't change this fact. If they later terminated this employee it can't change the fact that they still own the product, if they lost their product that's their problem! Have a good weekend
Bruce, out of curiosity what state is the Marriott you are referring to located in? I know someone who is a chief engineer at one, and it would just be too funny if it was him. Thanks
bruce, if you want i ll drive down there and kick the bell boys ass , if he dosnt fess up, i ll kick the chamber maids ass after that your on your on because the next person in line is the desk manager and there priicks, probably beat the bajesus outa me................
on a more serious note, sometimes you have to eat certain jobs to come out on top. i mean look at the entire picture, how much do you make off that account per year ?? is it worth shipping more batteries in the long run ?? is it a lucrative account ?? i do it alot in my line of work, sometimes just have to do things for free to get a bigger piece of the pie ... or you could be a priick about it and send 40 cases of radio shack brand.
AS WAX STATED, IT WAS 40 CASES OF AA BATTERIES, NOT 1 CASE 40 X 144 CELLS THE GUY THAT SIGNED FOR IT, WAS FIRED THE WEEK BEFORE FOR WHATEVER REASONS ( MAYBE HE WAS STEALING) I HAVE A SIGNATURE ON FED EXS COPY, SO I DID MY JOB..NOT MY PROBLEM ANYMORE... THE CHIEF ENGINEER HAD A CHIP ON HIS SHOULDER, SO ILL WAIT TILL MONDAY TO DISCUSS IT AGAIN WITH HIM IM NOT WORRIED IF I DONT GET PAID, I HAVE INSURANCE WITH ENERGIZER, SO ITS NOT A BIG DEAL, BUT ITS THE PRINCIPLE WITH THIS ASSWIPE IF HIS ATTITUDE DOESNT CHANGE ON MONDAY, THEN THE NEXT STEP IS "JERSEY RULE" BTW, ITS A MARRIOT PROPERTY IN DC THANKS ALL BRUCE
It's not like Bruce is dealing with Mr. Science here. Footnote - in the Hospitality Industry, "Engineer" = Guy that plunges toilets (By default - not Housekeeping or Maintenance [I'm not kidding] - Engineering gets dibs on the plunger), puts new batteries in cardkey doors, remote controls, changes light bulbs, dabbles in wiring once in a while... in short (pun not intended) the only time the word "degree" pops up is in relation to temperature.
Hi BRUCE/PAT/GANG Send the dillwad some fish-hooks for that "special place" Last time I saw someone need those removed, they remembered it for a long time... Or, you could send the weiner some weiners??
So true...in both business and everyday life.... I still think moving companies are the worst after my recent experience..but I imagine delivery people can be the same way
Mommy Mommy this weiner tastes funny. Serious side: Its good that you already sent a letter to Marriott, they will most certainly deal with it and hey you might get a free nights stay at one out of it.
