EVENT SCHEDULE:
7:30-10:00am – Exotic and Sports car meet/show at HRE facility
8:00-8:30am – HRE factory tour 1
9:00-9:30am – HRE factory tour 2
9:45-10:15am – Caravan to Marines Toys for Tots Car Show, deliver toys
10:15am-2:00pm – participate in Marines Car Show, refreshments, etc

TOYS for TOTS Charity Drive:
Bring a new, non-wrapped toy. Show the support of the car community and help bring a smile to children in need for the holidays. Join our caravan after the meet from HRE's facility to the Marines Car Show in downtown San Diego and let’s get a HUGE showing of car enthusiasts delivering toys!

Hope to see FChat making a strong showing, there are several people from other forums coming. I'm going on the radio tomorrow promoting, and speaking to local San Diego news stations this week. Will need some volunteers on Saturday to take a quick buzz down to KUSI to get their cars on TV!...Let's see some holiday spirit for the Marines Toys for Tots program in San Diego, FChat!

 

I was on KCBQ radio this afternoon with "The Car Guy" Dave Stall on the You Auto Know show, promoting the meet and Toys for Tots sports car caravan. Working on local TV news coverage too if I can get it.

Anyone got any news connections? I'm just going in cold. Have already talked to the news desks and have submitted details of the event. Any help is greatly appreciated, but I'll keep going after it on my own anyway. Sometimes persistence is almost as good as connections, just takes a whole lot longer.

***IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM ATTENDEE SIRGOLFALOT***

hello all....just an update....if you want in the Car show and have not officially entered at MCRD, let me know asap..I can add you to the list with Jose at MCRD..no problem at all. For those of you making the HRE convoy to MCRD but not entering the show, I've got a dedicated parking area within 50 feet of the show....so you don't have to worry about your babies.

I'm putting together a guest list of you'all in the convoy so that you can go in and out of the base without trouble...as my guest. I need everyone in the convoy to send me their info so I can post it at the gates. What I'd like:

first and last name, make/model of car/...online screen name(optional.so i can match name to car list)
you can text it, PM it or email it. thanks

(Sirgolfalot is not only a sports car nut like the rest of us, he's a Marine MP, and will be escorting us in the caravan from HRE onto the Marine Reserve Depot base. We'll bypass the search line if you're on his list. Otherwise if you're not, it's no big deal to get your car searched, just be sure to leave firearms and anything questionable at home.)
