Anyone else have one of the these phones? I picked up and HTC HD2 a few weeks ago and it is so freaking cool. I am so glad I gave up my iphone for it. It does everything the iphone doesn't do and much more. Acts as a wifi spot or teathers to laptop, upgradeable memory, changeable battery, on demand Blockbuster movies on the phone. I streamed a movie from Netflix via the wifi connection of the phone in the middle of the lake last week while sleeping on my boat(very cool). It has 3 different browsers that can pretty much play any video off the net which used to bug me a lot about my iphone. It aslo has Microsoft office mobile/power point/word/excel. It has remote desktop mobile so you can control your desktop I think. Never used it but cool if you need it. And you can multitask. Less Apps but overall a much better phone. I highly recommend it. The HTC Incredible is supposed to be even better.

I'll get my Incredible on the 26th. Almost walked out of the store with one Friday but apparently they couldn't register the SKU in the system.

I guess they have an "old" model where the 2GB card came seperately whereas the "new" model it comes installed already. Not sure of all the details, just know they couldn't check out the "old" version.

26th for me too. I can't wait to get rid of my BB. I've had all I can take of the tiny keys and small screen. But I hope I dont miss the BB service.

are you able to type fast on the on-screen keyboard?
can you view it in bright sunlight comfortably?
    is it comfortable to hold?
i have heard that the apps really suck...have you bought any?
do you use google docs? if so, how is it for editing those?
how about internet browsing--is the experience decent? are you able to move around the page and zoom in and out comfortably and easily and with the level of control that you want?

are you in a 4g area?

i am very curious about the evo...if they have the interface down, i think i will get one too. for me, weight and size are not an issue, but battery life and keyboard and interface are.

battery life is not great, when you have the 3g/4g always on. I get mine this afternoon, tell me what you want to see and I'll make a video demo.

    Browsing through pictures
Zooming in and out of a section of a pic
Managing pictures (creating sub directories and moving pics around in them)

Switching out to music player or radio and back again to a document on google docs and then using nave to map a route and switching to another app while you are on the move ( will it still give audio instructions even when the nav app is not primary focus?

Editing a doc and spreadsheet with long strings of text and numbers
Browsing entensity.net and clicking on a vid link (not too explicit) - I want to see how it handles popups and flash
Opening a link in a separate window and switching back to original window

While on a phone call, can you browse call records? You can't on an iPhone
While on a phone call, taking down notes and adding a contact. You can't on an iPhone.
Can you remove just one of your call records (say, the third last call you made) - with iPhone it's all or none, which is retarded.
Finding a contact...add one named mark smith1 and one named mark smith2 and then, from phone being off, how quickly and with how many key presses can you get to where you are calling mark smith1.

Pull up a word document, an excel sheet, a ppt. Is this possible? Is it possible to edit them?

Cut and paste text from one email into another and send it to three addresses with some text added before and after the quoted text.

Use some drawing or photo editing program to create something more than two lines, if you know what I mean.

While on phone call, hook up a Bluetooth headset and switch to that.

Find a wifi network and join it.

Use it as a tethering device and connect another device like an iPad to the web.
Connect a second device to the web using the tethering.
Show speed of loading different webpages on both simultaneously while also loading a third webpage on the phone itself.

Are you sorry you offered :)))))))

    Many thanks!!!!

I won't say I have any experience at all with android, so it will be clumsy for sure, but I'll do what I can.

Thank you, it's great that you don't have it down. That will show how intuitive it is to figure out how to do things.

Also, on the nav, is it possible to type in something like Starbucks and have it show you all the locations around you? That is actually a fairly useful feature on the iPhone's navigation app.

I am very curious about the ability to make directories and subdirectories and move pictures around between the locations. I am very organized and I would love to maintain the same folder structure across all my devices. The iPhone (my wife has one, I don't) and iPad (which I confess to using, though I am getting weary of its limitations) use a flat structure which wants you to not think in terms of files and locations--it is really annoying and cumbersome as you have to go through itunes to get any sort of organization and even then it's only one directory level deep. Totally stupid! I am hoping android is "normal"...

    Thanks again!

This is not android on the HD2. It is WinMo 6.5 with a very sweet Sense UI. You can look for someplace specific in the nav and see all locations nearby, or the free bing app will do that and give you turn by turn directions. The folder structure is totally flexible and would have no issues running the same structure you have on your pc.

Ordered an Incredible July 4th from Amazon, they said it would ship in 2 or 3 weeks, Today (the 7th) I got an shipping notice, should be here the 9th.

Same price as ordering from Verizon but I get a month sooner.

This will be my first "smartphone" so I have a steep learning curve ahead.

My wife just got an Incredible about a month ago, and I've been playing around with it to determine if I might want one when the time comes to replace my Env3.

Question; I finally found out how to have it in a landscape view, but it stays in landscape view only on one side, regardless how I hold the phone. Would be nice if it changed according to how I am holding the phone.
