Hey! I know this might not be the right forum, but this is the one I visit the most..so I will ask...I am trying to make a website background have a solid background image of the brushed aluminum..But the problem is, it is not lining up...Any idea? Thanks! brian
Likely this is because of varying pixel offsets in different browsers. Rotate the image a 1/4 turn. Reload it. See how it looks.
have you uploaded it somewhere? let me know the address and then I can copy it and send you the correct code for it. It would only take a second.
make one image say 1024x768 on the page in the <body> tag add: bgproperties="fixed" this means they will scroll and the background will not move. i had a design client that was jonesing for brushed alum, so we did it like that.
It's a little hard to say, without knowing what tools you're using. There's a "make tileable" function in GIMP. I don't know if your (photochop? powerpunt?) tool has a similar function. Even with GIMP, you have to try for a regular surface, with a repeatable pattern. "Brushed aluminum" could be completely irregular, unless you go for finely brushed -- then you might get a small tile that won't look too odd when repeated. A quick experiment cranked out the new background on http://www.toosilly.com/tires.html. You'd probably want to shrink it and reduce contrast, as it looks more like a quonset hut wall than "brushed aluminum". (That background came from GIMP's "brushed aluminum" gradient pattern, with only a little "tileable blur" added.)
This is the website: http://www.underground-scene.com/ I figured out a new background image which I think looks cool..what do you think of it ? The original image I was going for is in the top image..See where the Underground-Scene text is...to the right of that is green brushed aluminum. Was trying to make that piece the background..but it wasnt lining up.. what do you think is better? Brian!! THANKS FOR ALL OF YOUR HELP!!!!!!!
