Jack driving his GT 2+2... and 4x Espada, Vintage cars are not represented that much in USA too... like us last week in Italy : 1x 350 GT, 1x Espada, 1x Miura, 1x LP400, 2x Urraco and 1x Jarama...
Nice Lamborghini gathering, but what I hate the most is that BMW, Bentley, and RR joining in. I mean don't they have their own gathering?
This is how Lambo gatherings in the U.S. are now. So many people have made the mistake of selling the classics over seas that all that shows up are the over produced G's and M's. Great cars but there are just soooo many of them around. At least some of the ol gals made it out.
I didn't compute the CC : black QV, silver 25th and the white 5000 S, as I'm not considering them as Ferruccio ownership's period...
Is that Erik's (R.D.) white Countach ? I must admit, it is much better to view Jack's 400GT, with the pretty blond in the driver's seat .
Emilio, I'm considering Vintage cars... until Mimram brothers bought the factory... so these 3x CC are not according to me ! But a defending point of view, I love all the CC as you know I'd a 25th...
You should... Ferruccio loved ALL of the countachs and felt responsible for all its versions as NONE would have been made without him and his first model. It was the Diablo, when Balboni drove it over to show it to him, that he said it was a beautiful car but it is not HIS name on the hood. Balboni has told this story.
I agree with you on all the line... but to sequence the brand story, you cannot mix up the whole think... even if Ferruccio loved all of them ! The only one he was involved is the LP400, then Dallara, Alfieri, Pagani modified the original version ! Don't tell me he had a QV in his Museo at Dosso, because Ferruccio's personnal Countach was #112-1164 the white one in the middle of Italian flag... and now residing in Sweden to a fellow's private collection. Valentino told me that story too... Image Unavailable, Please Login
I never said he had a QV. Matter of opinion i guess. My opinion is that all Countachs are vintage Lamborghinis and exist because Ferruccio allowed its development. He saw THEM as cars HIS company created which is good enough for me.
yes, Ferruccio had one white "winged" LP400S. i think he could have bought any version, so i always found interesting he bought a fat tyres CT and not the first slim LP400
Olivier, you call vintage just the cars built before Minram i consider vintage lamborghinis all the cars built till diablo (so jalpa and all countach included) but in the end nobody is right or wrong, it is a personal choice
I agree with you : "nobody is right or wrong, it is a personal choice" as you know I'm loving all of them, some have my preference... but at the end, I give more importance to Ferruccio's era... 1962 - 1972, 10 years of leadership in this Automotive challenge... because all started before the 7th of May 1963 of course...
i understand your point and i agree: it is a valid point to focuse on just the "Ferruccio era" personally i would go a bit further and add, at least some, years of the countach production the countach was THE supercar of the era and a real leader for performances when it came out (the BB and Bora were much more GT-like and seconds slower on a lap time and the quick 911 turbo did not have a similar top speed) countach was king at least till the hiper expensive limited editions supercars ( 288GTO, F40, 959...) came out from major contenders and made the countach look dated (as it was...being already 10 years old at that time!)
the Man himself felt full responsibility for the Countach and ALL that it entails. HE made no reference to "some other companies car" until the Diablo. Period. And if he did his friends are not still talking about it to this day. I can't believe how that doesn't show his mindset to some people.
