+1 Certainly reads that way. AFAIK, the only possibly open seat of any interest is alongside Fred. The Cans, Maccy-L and Fauxtus all have their guys under contract and they'd be the only logical choices outside of FI IMO. The question then becomes, does he sign for a single year? - A *huge* mistake to do so IMO - He'd be better off staying put and dominating his team mate. OTOH, if he should sign a multi-year deal at least the "Sebby-V to Ferrari in 2014" stories would (happily ) die! Cheers, Ian
The article mentions Williams. That might be an option, alongside the Pastor. The car was obviously good enough to win a race. FWIIW
Possible I guess. I'm just not sure that's an "improvement" over where he is. Plus, Bruno brings many dinero to the table, and that seems to be Williams raison d'etre these days. Cheers, Ian
Not arguing that. But with even less money coming from King Fisher next year, I think Hulk is jumping off a deflating life raft. And say what you want, but that Williams did win a race this year.
Gotta give credit where due; AFAIK, Tillman was the first to coin said term - I just stole it.... Cheers, Ian
Vettel AND Hulkenberg at Ferrari 2014? The BILD journ...excuse me, "journalists" are going to explode...
According to Blick, Hulk signed with Sauber and Ferrari keeps Massa: http://www.blick.ch/sport/formel1/schumi-crasht-im-zweiten-japan-training-id2057590.html Buemi might get a comeback with the ex-Hulk seat.
+1 I guess the reason is that they're not quite the done deals the journo's want to believe - Many i's to be dotted at the least (?) Cheers, Ian
In all fairness the wording in Blick is very carefully chosen, so they're not that sure yet. Also interesting, that Koby's seat is not 100% secure at this point. Meanwhile Peter Sauber's motto is, that they don't discuss drivers for now as not to distract Koby from his home GP. I'm reading that as potentially bad news for Koby.
Money is also an issue at Sauber, so to keep Telmex guys happy, they may have to promote Estaban Gutierrez. I'm not sure how much money will Hulk bring in. That may be the reason why there hasn't been an announcement. The other point is, will Kobi stay? Perhaps it may be Esteban and Hulk in the team. Too much change, I know, but we have seen many times.
it might have been nice if you actually pointed out that very important piece of information in the first place. Is this something you do often? If so, then things make a lot more sense now.
according to autosport.com Sauber retains the Telmex-backing. Chances are Esteban Gutierrez is part of that deal. Probably for a raceseat. Hulk seems to have Katjes backing(licourice) (even got their name tatoo-ed ( http://www.nicohulkenberg.net/en/news/hulk-tattoos-katjes-logo)) but that is surely no Carlos Slim-figures.
Sounds all like a Hulkenberg/Gutierrez team for next year. Which is why Sauber is reluctant to make an announcement before the Japanese GP.
