best thing about Germany, LANE discipline.

Passing on the right is just not done.

And there's no ego involved with ANYONE wanting to go faster.

I rememberer driving to the Nurburgring in my Hertz Mercedes 190, 2.3, 1989, I was actually fatigued at the end of the day from the intensity of driving at 190 kph / throttle floored and having to pay attention to the 500 sel's left blinker on , closing fast...and the citron 2cv's on the road at the same time, never mine the lorries !

The ring was fantastic, that was in the days of DM's to fly, but the Autobahn, now that was an exercise in discipline I will never forget (and miss to this day here in the USA).

    2. I own a 360CS. I can easily buy a 2013 GTR but I chose a 360CS. you are preaching to the choir. However I'm not so blind/stupid as to think my car is the fastest. the GTR is obvious a better performer.

F430 is closer to GTR performance territory. The GTR had the edge.
Some folks also believe F360 will beat GTR. did you not read thread?
which car do I prefer in my garage? the fastest? the prettiest? the one that stirs the soul? see my post above.

Just had a quick skim through this discussion and it appears that a lot of people are heavily misinformed about the performance of GTR's and their own ferrari's. The latest model of GTR will out perform any Ferrari around the track. O-100km/h or 0-62mph is 2.8 seconds in a GTR. I also noticed someone stating that the GTR is only good in a straight line even though the purpose of the vehicle was intense cornering capabilities?? Currently there is a late 2010 model GTR in my garage with a upgraded K&N intake, and full exhaust system and a dyno tune pushing 690Hp 800nm and still remains bullet proof. I'de like to see a Ferrari be that tunable. I love ferrari's but they are fragile and not intended to be intense like a GTR. They're not comparable. A Ferrari is a mixture of art and performance. The GTR is form following function, pure uncomprimised performance.

I have a 360 in my garage that I have absolutely no desire to mod in any way whatsoever. BTW tell that to the two guys in my C&C who had the trannys replaced in their GTRs... Both have sold them.

That's the problem with the GTR. It's the same car as the 90's Supra. You guys all mod them to all get out and then in 10 years good luck finding an original car. I'm not knocking the performance, its just a different experience by a different type of owner.

You clearly have no idea of what us achievable with a Ferrari engine. Just because most don't feel the need to do it, doesn't mean it can't be done. Your nissan wont crack 100,000 miles between rebuilds. It isnt as bulletproof as you think. The missinformation In this thread goes both ways.

I have hesitated closing this thread several times and I have watched the spirit and content of the thread go up and down. It seems it is headed back down the dark road again and that is not positive for the forum or community. Everyone has had ample time to say something and now it is time to close this thread.
