Anyone have a Humidor that they don't use anymore that the're willing to give me? I got a few cigars over the past month or so, but I am a noobie/novice and don't know too much about them, and candidly I am too lazy to spend the time deciding what to buy..........I just need someplace to put them so they don't dry out.

If you've got one laying around that you can spare, send me a PM. Thanks! :)

Tupperware works just fine. Just remember to let the humidity out daily.

I bought one from thompson cigars. I'm not sure about the quality but it wasn't that bad of a price and came with cigars. The freebies are probably junk but whatever. You may want to check them out.

did it need seasoning or was it in working order? :D grats!

i jsut had to re-season mine after i had an out of control mold problem because the humi couldnt keep its humidity in check. -- wiped it down with some denatured alc, sanded away a bit, wiped it down again, then reseasoned it over the past week. works perfectly right now.

I dunno???............... I calibrated the hygrometer, or whatever you call the gague, with the salt in a bottle cap in a ziplock bag excercise.................then, I put my cigars in the humidor, filled the humidifier thingy w/ the pre-mixed liquid stuff I bought at the cigar store, and placed a shot glass 3/4 full of water in the humidior until it reached the correct humidity, then took out the shot glass....................Seems to be working ok so far............ I think.

It should work just fine Fred. You should plan on doing that routine once in a while. I usually do it once every 8 months or so, depending on how the humidor is functioning. Funny thing is that that humidor you have proved more reliable/stable than my primary bigger fancier one. It took me 3 months off and on, to get my other humidor stable. Thankfully we live in south florida and the humidity is ideal for Cigars so the humidor is not as essential as places like say..... Las Vegas or Denver.

I'm just glad the humidor found a better home than sitting next to the 550 in the garage!!!! :D :D
