    We have another nest in our yard. We have had about 8 or so in the last few years. The last one was a few months ago, but something destroyed the eggs. I hope this one has no problems. I am going to try and document this one with photos and video.

    Try and protect the nest from creatures of prey ie: crows, blue jays etc.

    Since hummingbirds are small, maybe chicken wire could protect the nest from larger critters, and still allow the parents access to the nest.

    I wouldn't obstruct the nest in any way... but perhaps a cone of plastic or chicken wire approximately 2 feet off the ground will sufficiently help protect the nest from ground critters and snakes.

    I don't think he should do anything anywhere near the nest. More likely to cause harm than good.

    Doubt it, I thought the same about a duck nest in our back garden but its a lost cause i believe
