First practice on Friday (I slept thru it!): Kubica 1:22.390 Massa -.129 Kimi -.150 Alonso -.195 Hamilton -.264 Heidfeld -.501 Rosberg -.593 Button -.904 Rubens -1.211 Ralf - 1.412 Davidson -1.712 Trulli -1.928 Wurz DC Kovlainen Vettel Fisi Luizzi Sato Webber Sutil Yamamoto
Thanks for posting the times, it's nice to the F-cars ahead of the Macs early on. I know it's practice and "doesn't mean anything," but i still prefer the red cars on top in all sessions. Mark
pretty impressive showing from BMW I suspect Kubica did that lap when he was extremely light. Practice times can be meaningless but I've found them to often be indicative of how strong the team will be on any particular weekend, and Ferrari looks like they're in good shape to take a win here.
Unfortuneatly the ferraris are looking up at McL, Renault and BMW in the second practice. 7/10th's off the pace.
This may be the other track (Monaco being the first) where the 'LWB' will hurt the Scuderia's chances. It's possible they're playing it close to the vest, but when they're not top-5, that seemingly has been an indication that they are struggling. (I don't think this means they'll qualify that low, of course). This really makes the events of the last race sting a bit more...

+1. My thoughts exactly. I don't think we will be hearing all of the comments about his drive as we did from Indy. The car is just bad and they still haven't come to grips with the transmission issues.
...I dont like the look of this...really dont...are we struggling here too? just like in monaco? we cant afford a bad race...
Kimi Raikkonen admitted he was unhappy with the handling of his Ferrari after setting only the sixth fastest time on the opening day of practice for the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Finn wasnt too concerned at this early stage, however although he said the team has a lot of work to do overnight. I am not very happy with the handling of my car in these two sessions and obviously we have a lot to do in order to improve, he said. But this is only Friday and there is no point in making a drama out of it as far as qualifying and the race are concerned. I wasnt able to get a really clear picture of the performance of the two types of tyre, especially on the first lap, firstly because of traffic and secondly because of that quick short shower.
seems to be a downforce problem but who knows, perhaps they're contemplating a one stop race and are practicing with a heavy fuel load. if the bmw's line up ahead of, or mixed in with the macs there could be first turn fireworks creating a opportunity.
Kimster better work together with the mechanics and sort out whatever's bothering him about the car. Will MS be there for this weekend's race?
One stopping could be a pretty damn good idea, considering how tight the track is, and how wide the F2007 is. If they can leap-frog the McLaren's then I think Fernando and Lewis will have trouble getting past them.
they need a clear track, which is almost impossible in HUngary, and also blistering laps from both the drivers, which is possible
Well, I slept through my alarm, so I missed it, and Speed is unusually not re-airing it. I hope Kimi can get the car handling the way he wants it to...
Good morning John - got your PM - will reply. Apparently Kimi can't get the car the way he wants it or he's sandbagging based on practice this morning prior to qualifying. Top ten in this morning's practice: Massa was on top with a 1:20.183 Alonso -.231 Hamilton -.278 Heidfeld -.382 Kimi -.558 Rosberg -.685 Trulli -.695 Ralf -.750 Webber -1.037 Wurz -1.140 Yamamoto was last with a time of 1:24.062 or 3.879 behind Massa. With this indicative pace for him, it won't be long before he's lapped and becomes a traffic hazard. Carol
