Car seems cheap. Dealer has a questionable past, but that does not mean they have a questionable present.

It is near Tim Stanford's, get him to do a PPI. That should answer your questions and concerns.

Man, I just did a search on "The Auto Toy Store" and I feel like I just got ran over by a truck, WOW, I had no clue. I am not quit so sure that I want to buy this car anymore. The problem is that I've already put a $1000 refundable deposit, which from the looks of it I may not get back if I decide not to buy the car.

I did gather from my readings thus far that Tim Stanford is the guy to go to for a PPI. If I decide to go for this car, I would ask Tim to do it despite the fact that they advised Johnny @ JCM Motorsports to do it.

What did you guys think of the car from the pictures? Shouldn't the valve cover and the piece where the spark plugs go into be painted red? If you look closely it looks that they were sand blasted and left that way. There are still some remnants of the red paint.

    I am confused now,
    B

If this is the car you want go through with the PPI. If it checks out ok do the deal. Hypothetically speaking, just because the dealer may be less than desirable doesn't mean the car is. I have no idea if they are good to deal with but you won't have to deal with them for service will you?

I sent two emails to the dealer, trying to get answers to several simple questions -- service history, PPI/test drive, and asking price, and got no response, both during and after the Ebay auction. That, combined with the notorious reputation, are big red flags to me.

Looks like you got better communication than I did though, if you actually made a deposit. I'm being rude, but I really am curious what the price was; PM me if you'd be so kind.

No I wont deal with them for service. The car will be shipped to Northern Virginia where I reside. I am going to call Tim Stanford tomorrow morning to schedule a PPI.

    Thanks for the advice,

Tim will tell you all you need to know mechanically about the car. Make sure the deal includes the tool kit and manuals. Get it in writing and make sure they are with the car. Also looks like the tires are TRX and are probably really old and dangerous to drive on, so I would check the date on the tires and replace them. The interior looks really clean, nice car from the pictures! I would not worry about the dealer so much, as long as you get what you are paying for. PM Jplayer521 , he used to work at the new new new Auto toy store.

I am actually selling Bzubi the car! Let me clear a few things up. While I am off and on at the Toy Store it reflects not on them but on me. I am a professional poker player and that conflicts with my job in car sales. Which explains why your e-mails may not have been replied to. I handle the Internet leads here. It is best to call and speak to a sales person. I admit the toystore does have a shady past but if you really look into it the past stems from the old owners. When MR Anthony did take over there were still a few problems left to work out. They have a new location and a new Team and plenty of happy customers. There are plenty of people on this board who purchased cars from us that are extremely happy. Hopefully they will chime in. BTW the 308 comes with BRAND NEW tires all the way around which as most of you know are very hard and expensive to come by. The service was just completed and I know even TIM will not find anything back. I also expressed to you over the phone and NOW over the Internet that your deposit is refundable. Many members on this board know me personally and know I am a man of my word and stand behind what I sell, regardless of what company I work for.

seats look like they have been dyed at least once. The paint coming off the covers at 22K miles....

I would make sure to let Tim give you a good estimate if the car really has 22K miles. At that mileage the seats should still be ok and the paint on the covers should be fine. Just my opinion.

Ron, the price is Reserve not met. They probably ask somewhere around $38K for the car. That is not cheap...especially not if the car has probably more miles than on the speedo.

The ATS was a different bired in the past - a big stinky poo, poo bird - Ray Anthony is a top flight guy and he has put time effort and money into making the ATS a new, better place to do business with. Of course, ALWAYS PPI and no one is better for those cars than Tim. Otherwise, far from warning you off from the ATS I would encourage you to work with them.

I've seen the car. I know the car. I know the service was completed by a reputable and learned technician with many, many years of experience as a service manager for a factory Ferrari dealer. I think most of you guys know I don't post very much as I only speak when I have knowledge or perhaps some other hopefully important reason. Jason's a good kid....but most importantly, the car is right. JCM or Tim either are more than qualified to perform an inspection on that car. You know they used to weigh the engine oil before it was put in and again upon removal just to check for engine wear. The leather looks good in the car and the seats have not been dyed.I think they were replaced and done to factory perfection because they are that good. Again bzubi, I don't work for the NATS and most of you guys know that. I just have seen and driven the car and you shouldn't have any worries about it and if Jason (that kid knows karate) is putting new shoes on her then you're turn key and golden!!! Happy Motoring!!!

If they were in fact replaced that would cloud the true miles even more. Why in the world would you replace seats at 22K miles. I have seen, driven, bought and sold high mileage Ferraris for years and never seen a seat that needed replacement at 22K miles.
One should assume that if someone has a garage queen (which raises a lot of new questions on "you are golden to go..") that they did care for the leather on the car so there should not be cracking which is the only reason to replace the seats in the first place.

I stand by my comments to Jason and his boss:

If you buy a place that has the worst reputation in the business and their company name is being used to describe the worst possible purchase experience a buyer can possibly have, you change the name and not just say: "New". Use the mailing/client list (that is what you bought).

Ray Anthony may be a "top flight guy" but to keep the name was certainly a poor business move.

    Martin,
This is South Florida and it is a GTS. Thats the only leather that gets direct sun exposure with the top out you know. All I was saying is that it's a nice car and the original poster should in my opinion carry through with the inspection.
