    Hi All

For some time now I hear this rattle coming from the back when going around a left hand corner. I have inspected the car on the lift, felt for loose heat shields, exhaust pipe clearances, air filter box clearance etc, but no luck.

    Any guidance would be appreciated.

    Regards

There should be a sticky thread for people to post "rattles I have fixed" :)
In addition to the items you have checked I would add:
Engine cover possibly rattling on the latches.
Water transfer pipes which run through the tunnel. These have rubber surrounds at the ends where they go through the chassis and one of mine had moved so metal was contacting.
Air con pipes exiting the compressor vibrating against the air intake which acts as a loudspeaker giving a very loud buzz.

I have had great luck finding rattles by putting the car on a lift and hitting various points of the frame with a rubber mallet. Does not damage and almost always gets the vibration to show itself. Good luck.

Found the elusive sound - it as the waterpipe coming down next to the fibreglass air intake channel. There was a 5mm gap. I simply pulled the air intake towards the body and noise no more. I also noticed some marks on the top of the airfilter box patterned like the above mesh and put some closed cell foam on the cover. All good now. Next rattles come from the suspension. Have purchased my bush set from Superformance. Ready steady and hopefully soon GO.

Good work. Very satisfying to fix those little issues.

Had a rattle inside the cockpit that bugged me for weeks. Turned out to be the keys...

I had the same exact issue, except mine sounded a bit more like an electrical arcing. I have a small plastic tag on my keys and it was slapping against another key in the wind.

Oh, boy I took the car for a ride yesterday and had what I hope is a rattle, sounded like it was coming from right behend the passenger headrest. I opened the bonnet and looked around saw that the outside of the air conditioner drive belt is serrated that is exactly what it sounded like, as if the serrations were rubbing on something. The strange thing is it only makes the sound when I am moving, sitting still idling or revving it sounds fine, when I drive it is back and somewhat intermittent.

I'll get under the car this week.

My other rattle was the rivet that holds the passenger seat belt clip housing together had loosen. So at about 3000 RPM the two plastic haves started to chatter. That proved challenging to find since you could not have a passenger (with the seat belt on) to help track down.
