Many of you have had the problem with the HVAC air direction getting stuck (usually in the feet and defrost position). I recently had the same problem. I removed the little cabin air direction motor and sure enough, on startup it would cycle through then remain in the same position. Vents pointing up and down, not at my face. As other have suggested, I reset the battery but this time, I disconnected my stereo head unit, I put the rotary dials for fan speed and air direction in manual mode rather than auto. turned the battery back on, started the car and presto, the actuator cycled through then moved to where the manual setting was. And is now working just fine. So, it maybe just luck, but what worked for me was unplug the stereo, 3-4 battery resets and making sure the knobs were in manual settings rather than auto before firing everything up again. As a side note, a huge than you to Quaivon who gave me hugely detailed support and guidance. This forum is full of so many brilliant and helpful members.
