I have always bought the regular version of models. I can get basically 2 regulars for one versus the Elite versions. Got a good deal on the 430 CH Elite on Ebay recently and bought it. WOW!!!!!!!! The difference between the regular and Elite is like night and day---I know some of you guys don't like the HW, but man this model looks pretty good compared to the regular version. SSSOOOO-----I guess I will be slowly selling most of my regular cars here and there when I find good deals on Elite's...

I got the 430 CH Elite for $42, brand new in the box, Most Elite versions go for $60 on average---Is this right??? Just want to get an idea before I start buying...

Well, Robbie you are only half right. Or half wrong. However you prefer looking at it. Some Elite models, like the 430 CH you are talking about are much better than the regulars. Not because they are sooo good but because HW made the regulars extra crappy on purpose. However, I just bought the 250 GTO and Lusso in Elite and my advice to everyone out there is DON'T WAIST YOUR MONEY!!!

The 599, except that they messed up the wheels. The 575 Superamerica, simply because what they are selling for the regular version is criminal. And I have mixed feelings about their 125S. Mainly because it is inaccurate color.

I've got the Superamerica, 599, 430 CH, and FXX in Elite... they are all worth the money, at least to me... I've got the 125S and Scuderia on my list to get in Elite as well... the pics of the regular Scuderia make it look HORRIBLE... I can't speak to the Elite F40/F50/333/Lusso/288/etc...

I agree, for the cost the detail is better then you would expect.
Even if a few things are wrong, I can live with it.

Someone who knows models very well told me that the elite series has something to do with Kyosho, i.e. they got involved, is that correct? Hence why they are so good, well much better than the regular HW?

I believe Kyosho is somehow part of Mattel, I have seen the Hotwheels symbol on a Kyosho box before

    hi
juat want to put my 2cents worth in about hotwheels elite models, i got most of them 2/3 months ago and i was happy with the quaility of some of them, but i should have waited till now, because they are dropping in price like from 90.00 euros down to 50.00
for the road/sports versions, they are not selling great,so i will be keeping my eye out in the next few weeks to see if they will drop again. i think kyosho are a better quaility in the finished product, although it would be great if minichamps where to make them
    even a limited run.

There is a reason for that, and it has nothing to do with the two companies being related in any way. Kyosho only builds models with Hot Wheels (Mattel's) permission and under their license because they have all the rights from Ferrari.

So the bottom line is, Hot Wheels (Mattel) and Kyosho are not related, Hot Wheels (Mattel) due to their license gives permission to Kyosho to make a specific model. Kyosho puts this on their packages to show how they got the license.

Watch the Mattel Outlet thread from the Dallas Texas section, although they ran out and snatched the two 599Tour cars right out of William Hubers hands for some reason, maybe lead paint or ???

Anyway I didn't get them, only the China 612 Tour car...

The elites are WAY past the price point at full retail $$$...the ones you see on FleaBay are most likely Outlet resales..

He did do GOOD on the various Ferrari Barbies though...they do the same thing, langiush at full retail $$ until they adjust them down.....down.....down to meet demand level.....

No matter what the version of Elite I think they are all nice. I have a couple HW 1:18 from before the Elite series and the Elites are way nicer than those. As far as I'm concerned they are not a waste of money.

I am sorry, I don't mean to be rude, but are you blind by chance?
Please for everyone here do a little exrcise. Get a regular HW F50 an Elite one and a MAisto one. Now compare the three and tel us all how many and what differences are between them. Now compare the prices of the 3 and if you still think that paying premium for F50 because of its box is not a waist of money, go check yourself with a shrink

This is insane. Yes the regular Superamerica is total trash and the Elite Superamerica is pretty good. No comparison at all. Same goes for the 430 Challenge. But the F50 Elite, 250GTLusso Elite, 250 Gto Elite, 288GTO Elite, 333 Elite, F40 Elite are waist of money. I am saying this not because they are soooo bad. I am saying it because they are not worth what they cost compared to the alternative choices. There is basically no difference between the Elite and non elite F50s. So why spend the extra cash? And they are just a reissue of the Maisto model under the HW brand because of the license, so they are identical. And you can buy a Maisto, mint in box for $15 on e-bay. This means that for the money you can get one REGULAR (not even Elite) HW F50 you could get both the open and closed version from Maisto. For the price of an Elite F50 you can get both versions(open/closed)in two different colors each. That is 4 models for the price of one. Do you still think that buying F50 Elite is not waist of money?
