    All,

This happened yesterday to my friends in the Mid-Atlantic Ducati Club. Several members had reserved rooms at the Hyatt Hotel (probably down on Cannery Row) back in September of last year in anticipation of the upcoming MotoGP race at Laguna Seca.

Yesterday, they were informed tha Hyatt was cancelling their reservations as a business came in and rented the entire hotel for the entire event. This obviously sent everyone off into a tizzy. Hyatt was moving their reservations to other hotels and won't be charging for 3 nights, but the hotels are 90 miles away! What a crock!

Anyway, if you're going to the MotoGP race, you should re-confirm your reservations immediately regardless of where you're staying. Don't be caught without a room when the music stops!

Sorry for the bad news. If I hear more, I'll update.

That sucks. Hmm, just stay home and watch it on TV and save the hassle.

Or find who made the decision to let Red Bull rent it, and break his nose in front of his girlfriend.

Better coverage on TV. But, people are really excited about the return of MotoGP to the States. I understand why, of course, but having been to my fair share of Grands Prix in the past, while I always enjoyed my experiences, I never really felt that I got to enjoy watching the race itself. Too many logistical issues (travel, hotels, transport to and from tracks, tickets, paddock passes, and the list goes on).

Anyway, I like the suggestion of breaking noses. That would feel ... satisfying!

Right now I'm looking at just camping fri and sat nights. I couldn't confirm if I could go or not until too late to reserve hotels, I would have liked to score track side camping, but all that is left as of a month or so ago is offsite camping on the park grounds around Laguna (Toro Park camp site). Not so bad, wont be next to the track, but seriously need to score a shower somewhere in there (3 days out in the sun...). Any ideas from anyone that has been to laguna before? Is there a river nearby?

I read on the site that they have showers for the reserved campsites (at the track) which is cool... but not so much help if you are at a campground a couple miles away, and need to take a shuttle to get to the track. Any thoughts?

Well, several people I know of who complained loud enough to both Hyatt and Red Bull have had their reservations reinstated mysteriously.

I suggest, if you haven't already, making some calls to check on your reservations if you had any.

Enjoy the race...hopefully, Michelin won't be providing tires!
