I currently have a capristo exhaust in my 360 and am seriously considering installing hyper-flow cats to the car. Does anyone have the hyper-flow cats and what are your thoughts? Is it worth it? Thanks in advance.
I got the Tubi high flow tubes, they are just straight pipes, with cell, but once in few 100 miles (when i remove it with OBD). But very loud http://www.bestexhaust.com.au/store/images/TS01239911010.jpg
I'm running hyperflows with a tubi- the car sounds great! I had the OEM cats, but one of my pre-header cats went and took out one of the cats- my mechanic strongly suggested the hyperflows- replacing both was cheaper than one new OEM cat, but more importantly he said the build quality of the hyperflow is better. For that reason I put the hyperflows on. I guess you could say as a bonus I got the better sound (and maybe a couple of HP more, but nothing that I can notice ).
I've got Hyperflow cats with a tubi muffler and Seca Competizione headers. Very pleased with the setup, but you will need a tune to get rid of the CEL.
Yes, no problem at all. The only issue I had was no pre-cat (99) which was not related to the hyperflow cats at all.
Many people have told me that the combination of hyperflow cats with a tubi exhaust makes the sweetest sound. I have stock headers and cats (will replace them soon probably) with a fabspeed exhaust. It does still sound really nice.
+1 for me- no CEL. The CEL came one when the pre-cat in the header went bad, which is what damaged my original cats and forced me to replace the header and replace/upgrade to hyperflow cats in the process. Your removal of the pre-cats that are in the OEM headers is what is causing your CEL, not the hyperflow cats. As much as I'd love to get rid of the useless pre-cats, the system gets thrown off, thus I stayed with the OEM header to replace the one that went bad on me, and put on the Hyperflow cats.
I've had both hyperflows and kinetix on my 360. Tubi headers (no precat), tubi muffler. The hyperflows are more nicely made. Smoother transitions between components. They are also considerably larger. Probably 50% more area. The kinetix only came with one O2 bung despite all the pictures having two, which was a PITA. The threads for the temp probe were mis-cut or incorrectly cut. Almost like an NPT thread? I dunno. Last time I was in the shop my mechanic pulled out the right die and cleaned them up. Despite all the above, I actually prefer the kinetix for the sound. Call me shallow but noone is timing my drive to the bagel shop. The higher cell count seems to filter out deeper frequencies, making for a "cleaner" sound that's not as loud. They also cost 1/2 as much though, as I said, you kind of get what you paid for in terms of workmanship. I may be an oulier in the amount of noise I can tolerate. I actually run the OEM valved tips with my Tubi now. With the full exhaust and the hyperflows, the car was obnoxiously, cringingly loud. With the kintex and tubi tips, it was really damn loud. With the kinetix and the OEM tips, it's just pretty loud at low RPM and really loud at full chat. I probably would not want to drive it cross country but it's fine for an hour or two.
hah! Phil's tolerance is WAY higher than mine, that's for sure! He has (essentially) my original configuration but in a Spider.
I have Kinetix cat's with stock muffler. It is not obnoxiously loud, a tad louder than stock. The workmanship on my Kinetix cat's was great - two bungs, no problems with mis-threaded holes. After a weekend on the track at Road America, no CEL either.
Fabspeed's 200 cell HJS sport cats sound amazing! This is a video of a 360 with a Capristo muffler and our Fabspeed 200 Cell cats, sounds very good! Skip to about 1:40 [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tp-ByKVSq08]Ferrari 360 with Fabspeed Sport Catalytic Converters - YouTube[/ame]
I have hyperflow cats, fabspeed headers, and a fabspeed exhaust silencer on my 360. I LOVE hitting the right side pedal now!!! No CEL's or Slow Down lights with new ECUs and O2 sensors.
