I just ordered a set of Hyperflow cats today from Ricambi. Can anyone give me some info on installation on my 348 Spider? Things I should look out for. I am mechanically inclined and have a good set of tools including air tools. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the pics. It looks like a big job. Do you have to remove the mulfler?

I have installed with the muffler in and out. A bit tight with the muffler in but doable. Not a bad job either way. Regarding tools, if I recall correctly all I needed was 13mm for muffler clamp bolts and nuts, 10mm for the thermocouple and 22mm for the O2 sensors. Good luck!

Muffler out will be A LOT EASIER...Some of those clamps are tough to get too and with the muffler in you have hardly any room to work with. Do it with the muffler and airbox out, a lot easier though a lot more time to do it...relax, take your time and do it right. When you put the O2 sensors back on, ground the housings so that you will never have the "CEL light because of bad O2 ground" problem.

Is the gain from the hyperflow cats worthwile ?
No further adjustments neccesary ? Motronic regulates itself ?

    Thanks.

Gain is minimal. Maybe 10 horsies despite all claims...not a enough to make it a big deal
Engine not catching on fire because of bad ceramic cat design = priceless.
No other adjustments needs...Motronic does its same ol thing'.

I'm biased, but I think gain is more that 10hp. More importantly, I feel the throttle response is improved, exhaust temps are WAY lower, and improved sound.

If you believe these dyno results -- and even if you grant them a 25% margin of error, the gains are more than 10hp. http://ricambiamerica.com/hyperflowdyno.htm

Yeah, I know we could launch into a big debate about this dyno test, but for now, it's the only "real" data point we can work with.

Tmobileguy, can you post a pic showing how you grounded your O2 sensors.
    Thanks

I'll try to get a pic up...Just got whacked by a hurricane so the stuff that I have left is everywhere....still have the Ferrari though...will try to get a pic up but here is a simple explanation...

    1. buy 2 hose clamps from a parts store that would be the correct size to go around base of the o2 sensor (about twice the circumference of a tube of chapstick)
    2. Strip off the ends of 2 wires, I used 12 guage wire...
    3. Clamp the hose clamps over the stripped end of the wire, thus clamping the wire to the o2 sensor...the other side of the wire I crimped to one of those "C" looking end fasteners. I then fastened that to existing bolt on the chassis nearby by just unscrewing the bolt a little, sliding that in, and then re-tighting the bolt....

very easy stuff....took about 10 min. on each side...
