Personally I think Alonso/Heidfeld might be a killer combo. A great n1 and a good n2 who doesn't threaten n1 but still racks the point for the championship.

Alternatively, Massa/Button. Maybe the Brit will shine in a competetive car.

Brother Ralfie in red car? :D Give him a fast car and he willl be competitive, but he's no WDC material. Just like Rubens...

If Alonso drove for Ferrari, I'd stop watching Formula One. So yeah, Hamilton is better, he isn't as disliked by Ferrari fans yet and shows more promise to be the better driver in the future.

If you scale the evaluation with experience then I'd say yes. This kid with 5 F1 races to his credit is keeping up with the 2 time WDC. Let's see Ham after 2 WDC's under his belt. In all fairness though, Fred didn't start his F1 career by testing for 1000's of km's in arguably one fastest cars on the grid before his first GP as Ham has.

In this hypothetical situation, I'd hate to see Hamilton suffer as Schumacher orients the team top-to-bottom around his own needs. Hamilton is too good a talent to waste as a number two.

I thought one of MS's rules was the other driver cannot have a chance of challenging him, hypothetically it may not happen , unless it meant RS/LH ;-)

I would keep Kimi and Phil for 2008. They will both know the team very well, an advantage on an Italian team. Kimi will finally show his potential, Massa will continue to improve. Massa will finally be Ferrari's #1.

Yes, but he may have sold his sould to Ron Dennis and THAT is enough for some to dislike him.

His soul has not been completely corrupted, we can still save him and steer him away from the Dark side of F1.

Hadn't thought of that combo - Rossi has already driven a F1 Ferrari and Loeb has successful Pescarolo LMP1 experience (including night qualifying and racing experience to boot = competitive advantage for F1 night races) . . . brilliant idea! Two World Champions on the same team !! Rossi could win the DC and tie John Surtees record of holding both two and four wheel championships.

With Hamilton in the car you don't need another driver and Luca deserves some GPs as a Grazie from the Scuderia. :)
