I live in a middle class subdivision which has three phases and houses out here go for $200K to $320K range. I am in the upper bracket. I have land and space which I wanted and it's my first house. I don't live in anything too fancy yet...but working my way there.

Well I was talking to a friend of mine the otherday who knows police officer in my hood. This police officer told my friend who is a detective that I am being carefully watched at my home. They are suspecting something illegal going on due to my neighbor who has a big mouth and starts gossip with everyone on my block. I have come up many times in neighborhood parties conversation because of the cars I have or come to my house...Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsches, Vipers...etc..Obviously when these conversations happen I am no where to be seen. They always ask what I do for a living....This neighbor of mine doens't like me too much because she thinks I talk smack with others??? She's the one that talks and gets into other people's business...but anyways...this kind of pisses me off because I don't need cops thinking I am doing illegal stuff at my house because this ****** neighbor of mine can't mind her own business...She had made comments like..."what is a car like this doing in our neighborhood?" "I don't understand why someone would buy a car like that!"...."Why are his cars so loud"

I called her up and more or less told her I don't appreciate her talking about me to others and for it to stop. She acted like she was my friend and she would stick up for me when she heard rumors going around. I felt like telling to stick it up her yahooo instead!

You guys experience any of this??? Maybe it's just me....geesh!

I bet you guys all live in more classy places then I do! LOL! I don't care...I just want a big nice garage...that's all I care about.

I tell you what we should do...everyone in Louisville come over with their exotics for a cook out and beers....that should get the old hag busting out.

Oh, by the way I have a home based internet business and I think what also contributes to them talking about me is that I am always home...if I get stressed...I go outside and mow the lawn...LOL! They wonder why I never go to work. I guess it's humorous to a certain extent.

What time do you want us to come by?? :~)

I have had a few problems. One neighbor has left me nasty letters telling me to slow down in the neighborhood and she spreads rumors that she saw me speeding. She even yells at me when I drive down the street. I ALWAYS drive the speed limit in a neighborhood, too many kids! But her home just went on the market today so she will be gone soon.

My next door neighbor has not talked to me in 5 years b/c he believes that I lied to him when he asked if my parents helped me buy my home. I built my home when I was 23 with no help (except love) from my parents.

When I had my Jaguar XJR, black on black, one guy accused me of being a drug dealer. He told me that was the only way someone my age could afford a car like that. He was wrong!

I see some things never change...years ago when I was living with my parents, I had an S-10 pickup that I usually parked on the street at night. I was often the last home at night and the last to leave in the morning, so it didn't make sense to block everyone else in the driveway. Keep in mind, the truck was clean and well kept, no oil leaks or rust spots or anything to make it an eyesore. We got a letter from the neighborhood association saying "habitual parking on the street" was not allowed. Of course, the irony was that one of the members of the association had their nanny park her POS oil leaking neon on the street every day instead of in the turn-around in front of the house (that didn't block the driveway).

Some neighbors are just pricks and they aren't worth worrying about.

    Just my $.02

Keep your friends close and your ememies closer!

I'd just keep smiling and be very nice to them..It will chap their ass and wonder even more what your up to. I have nosy neighbors too and one who won't talk to me anymore because he is pissed off at the world and I'm 10 years younger than him, frugal and I can afford to live in his neighborhood.

Advuce: The next time you see some of the local cops stop tell them about the neighbor and invite them over to see the car(s) at your place. Most cops won't turn down a free look at exotic cars. That will get Ms. Busybody going..."now the cops will be in on whatever she thinks your up to." Gotta love the Gladys Crabbits next door. Remember her? from Bewitched?

    Best of luck

I think you need to do a little b**ch-slapping!

Btw, I wouldn't ask anybody about their jobs normally since it's none of my business but since you mentioned that your job is running a website, would you mind sharing what website or at least what type? That is kind of what I picture myself doing in the near future, at least to make a little money during grad school.

    Adam:

I hate to say it but sometimes an over-extention to neighbors that are busy-bodies can sometimes prove invaluable. Try simply stopping by w/ your lovely wife and dispelling any myths and asking for peace as "rumors" are surfacing and you thought it best to resolve before any uncomfortable consequences. Sometimes these things left unchecked can continue to fester like a bad case of something that even Gold Bond can't cure.

    Good Luck!

At least she's not like the *****es in the Indianapolis Star a few weeks ago who appointed themselves neighborhood watchdogs and stood on the corner with a radar gun and notebook recording plates of cars when they did not like their driving. They passed this info to the cops who started sending out friendly reminders to the scofflaws, thus of course incouraging the bimbos to become more vigilant.

Take her for a long ride in the Diablo, THAT should get the neighborhood buzzing!
