I have a call into gull wing to discuss this offering. Anyone familiar with this car's history? Also, any expert advice welcome! Will track down vin and further details. https://www.gullwingmotor.com/2003-ferrari-575-maranello-c-3108.htm
I don't think you can go wrong with a 575 manual, check Mecum Auctions if I'm not mistaken two manuals sold well over $300,000. I'm far from being an expert but the price seems to be going up. I'm sure other guys will chime in that know a lot more than I do. Good luck !
Looks like a beautiful spec! Good luck and let us know how it turns out. I purchased my 412 from Gullwing several years ago and found them to be easy to deal with and straight shooters. Ruben
I don't follow gullwing that closely, but as far as I remember they usually have cars that need some love. A thorough ppi would definitely be in order.
This is true, although they have some pristine gems mixed in - these tend to be rarer cars, my manual 412 and (hopefully) this manual 575 included. Would nonetheless encourage a thorough PPI, regardless of which dealer or private seller you buy from. Good luck! Ruben
Great comments and advice! I also have heard that oftentimes gullwing cars can be on the rough side. The way this is priced, it sounds more like a #2 or #3 type vehicle by hagerty scales. But it matches best my color and option wants. Listing does not say it has fhp, but everything else is right on, esp modular wheels! Will wait til i speak to the dealer before starting ppi process. Any recs for the nyc area to carry this out? Thanks!
It's been a while but universal autosport in Glen cove or Ferrari long island. Kind of vaguely remember hearing that neither of them do ppi anymore though
I would have already bought that car if I was in the market. Red/shields/tan Daytona is my spec for front V12's. It'll be a half-million dollar someday.
Pepper that’s the spec on mine it’s an F1 though lol any hopes for appreciation? Damn these owners in 2002 not saving $12k and ordering only sticks
That's a significant drop in prices on the most desirable color combination. I'm not sure how many miles it has, but these engines can run well over 150,000 miles.
its almost 30,000 miles. I'd say thats a steep but fair price vs the others I've seen. There's a superamerica that just popped up on my instagram feed at $285k with 38k miles but its black. Im not in the market for either car but if I was I'd def pay up for the lower miles, if you have $285k you've got $385k I'd assume to go get a lower mile example of each. These cars will be classics one day so you might as well go for the best of the best.
When I purchased my 412, this was the case as well, but the rarity of the car (5 sp manual and CA BAR legal) made me continue to pursue it. They offered the possibility of doing the PPI onsite - they provided the car and a lift for my use the entire day, which worked out great. I just brought in my own specialist that knows these cars well (Tom Yang) and it was quite convenient because unlike many other shops that do PPI, I was able to be there right along side with Tom - I learned a ton about the car. Did they offer this as an option? This is a rare enough car that perhaps finding a way around this may be worthwhile. Ruben
gullwing has terrible cars to begin with if there was nothing to worry about youd let them go out for a ppi
Yes they offered the lift and use of their space for the ppi, in all fairness. However, I just didn't feel comfortable with this arrangement--I am no Ferrari mechanical expert and my trusted wrench did NOT want to do a ppi outside of his shop. I am fatalistic about car buys, if there is too much hassle-factor, then the car-gods are trying to tell you something! There is always another quality variant around the corner...
