Konnor: The EPA Fuel Economy Rating for a 1997 F355 was 10 city / 15 highway. The road test in Road & Track, January 1997, says that they got 16.0 mpg in "normal driving". The car had a 21.6 gallon fuel tank, so the cruising range was around 330 miles per tank.

    Good luck with your project!

    Konnor,

on a trip from houston to San Francisco I averaged 23.5 MPG. Typically I'm around 11 to 12, having some fun.

    Jeff,

I miss the 348 some. How is your car running? Thanks for all of your help.

Vincent, my 348 has been doing just fine. I have a couple of minor problems, one of the catalytic converters is rattling again when the engine is cold (it's NOT the flywheel), and the guy who mounted my new tires apparently made a small dent in the inner rim of my LF wheel, so I have a small vibration that I didn't have before. Are you doing any "hands on" work on the new 355?

    Hi Konnor,
Just for comparison, my 308 GTS gets about 13 MPG. When I am following Dave T. in his 355 I get about 9 MPG.:D:p

No, I didn't make the tech session at Speedware. I was asked to work Saturday.

I own one of the yellow 308's in the club. If you are ever looking for me, mine is a GTS (black targa top). Click on my name at the top of the post, then profile to see a picture of it.

I haven't done anything to it yet, haven't needed to. But I am planning the first oil change. I also will take the wheels off and inspect the brakes while I'm at it.

    Hi Konner,
My wife and I just teturned from a trip to Cal. ( 1975 mi.total.) in a 1998 Honda Accord. We drove s teady 70 mph on the freeway and moderately elsewhere. On trip legs, we averaged 34 to 35 miles the gallon on regular gas.
It has a four cylinder engine.

No, Konner, I don't race Ferrari's. First of all, I'm too old at 78 to be doing that but I'm not too bad a driver yet. Second, I don't have the money for one but if I did i could show the guys a little bit of fun.....before I busted something. When I was younger I owned an Austin-Healy 100( 1959 ), an Alfa Spider ( 1962), and an Alfa Sprint ( 1963 ). Those Alfa's were great cars, ran like they were on silk and handled as good as a Porsche. Can't remember the mileage that they got. Keep up the good work and get GOOD GRADES.

It's good that you have a target to shoot for and the help from your parents to achieve it. The key to a successful life is an education and it appears that you are on your way by doing your projects on time and paying attention to school. Look at men like Willis, Kuzi, Dave, and aeroengine man ( Dave T. ). They all got a good education AND used thier smarts to get where they are and to own their Ferrari's. Spasso and Bob O. all went to school and work hard to achieve what they have done so you are on the right track.
Hope to see you this summer.
    Bob
