...not only in hopes of a great show but to support the family who will suffer the most if people don't go....

    The Hulman/George family.

Other than that... Michelin sucks and so do the teams who didn't even try.

That's a joke about wanting to support the Hulman/George family, right?

    Pompous bastards! They're Bernie, USA!

I was at the last "real" Indy 500 when they celebrated 80 (or whatever) years of ownership by the Hulman/George family. I thought "Who the FOCK are these people that think we care???" In this case they're innocent victims, but I don't mind a bit that they're victims. That's IRL Karma !

Oh... yes the true victim here is the Hullman/George clan. Please.

After what took place Sunday in Indy anyone who pays a dime to attend any future Formula One event in the USA is a fool.

"I really don't believe this will have an effect on Michelin's future in Formula One," Michelin's deputy director of competition Frederic Henry-Biabaud.

Michelin couldn't even be bothered to test at Indy and could care less about simply walking away from you 120,000 suckers on Sunday.

Same with the so-called race teams and competitors. Rather then adjust to an equipment problem and compete within the rules to the best of their ability , apparently it was just easier to pack it up and look forward to the next race.

"There has been a lot of discussion trying to resolve the issue but we couldn't risk it, it's too dangerous. We're sorry for the fans, it's obviously disappointing for them. We have to think about our safety first. It's not safe to drive. We have just got to look forward to Magny-Cours." Jenson Button, BAR-Honda. Yeah, I am with you Jenson. What the hell... it's only the American race. Who really cares anyway???

Formula One sucks. Amazing cars but the teams mostly consist of selfish, arrogant euro-trash. The drivers are spoiled, mindless, cowardly drones, who are scared to compete. When the teams aren't afraid to race, the racing is a boring waste of time. *uck Formula One.

What would you want the Michelin teams to do? If they went ahead and raced and a tire failed and a driver was killed the same folks would be saying "...I can't believe the teams let the drivers race knowing that the tires were subject to fail...those team owners only about money and not their own drivers..." While it may not have been a popular decision, it was the best one under the circumstances IMHO.

IMS has not received one dime of my money since 1995. I will not spend one cent there until the IRL dies.

Tony George's little Indy-centric ego trip destroyed American open-wheel racing. Any repurcussions from the F1 fiasco are just karma coming about.

    HAHA...

    I was joking.

I have gone to the F1 races at IMS since 2000 (renew every year)and 2005 was my last unless they make amends (like free tickets for 2006)

parkerfe I disagree. Michelin was certainly obligated to notify its teams and should be held accountable for not even bothering to test at Indy, however, those racing teams are obligated to race. This is auto racing and tires blow out in every race. A risk of mechanical failure exists in every race on every lap. In this instance the teams knew of a potential for failure in one turn, therefore, for this race they should have somehow adjusted for it and raced. Each team had several options... beyond adjusting the course which is absurd... which would have resulted in an actual race. Each of the Michelin Seven would have been at a considerable disadvantage but that is what happens when you show up on race day with inferior equipment. Especially in Formula One. All those millions of dollars F1 people love to brag about is supposed to be in support of RACING.

You disagree with what? That they should have raced or that most people would have blamed the teams had they raced and someone was killed as a result of a tire that failed?
