    Mine has never been bent yet. It does scare me when the front lid is open. I had two people just jump right inside my car at a show once right in front of me. Got to watch everybody around the car all the time.

    I've had that happen too, people just getting right in your car and pretend its like normal, Well OK, but ask first and no food! It's fun to see people taking pictures with a girl friend, wife or kids whatever, along side your car though. It would be a pain but do you think it would be a good idea to cover the plates? Hadn't considered that but you don't know what they are doing with the photos, maybe I'm just paranoid now.

    Yup. Got to keep an eye out all the time. I have never covered my plate but I suppose that is not a bad idea.

    My car has the same dimple. A reputable local body shop estimated repair and repaint at around $1,000.

    I nearly had the same thing happen to my engine cover. I had it open to show some customs officers who were interested and one tried to force it closed. Fortunately, I was able to stop him before he did any damage. It has the lock ball release, but he thought it was a gas strut. (88 Mondial)

    FYI support, p/n 60118007, with button release, was superceded by Ferrari to p/n 62380500, which is a gas strut, and the reason was hoods were beeing bent by too many

    It happened to my engine cover - done by a dingbat who popped the engine cover when I wasn't looking and then just tried to push it shut - not a happy engine cover - not a happy owner, either, I can tell you.

    You'd think! I was at a restaurant in a nice part of town when some tourists started taking pix with the car. That was fine. then two of the tourists were having some (I'd assume) technical discussion regarding the cars construction, and one of them started banging on the fender - like you'd knock on drywall looking for studs. I had to bang on the window to get their attention and they stopped. NOT COOL :(

    I have been massaging it back into place. I put a C clamp on the structure and that helped flatten the hood out. You can see in the attachment just a slight bump in the middle of the edge. As for the Ebay hood, thanks for letting me know but mine is a gt4...

    It looks like you're making good progress with your hood, Bill. You might consider taking your car to a paintless dent repair shop (eg. Dent Wizard) for the finishing touches.
