I looked at the 83 400ia. Has several issues: (1)Low compression on #8 cylinder 160 vs 180 on the others (2) Interior needs a redye, and (3) The car has been repainted from original black. Seemed very nice on the phone right up to the point I decided to look elsewhere then things were not entirely pleasant. And, once again, those databases are a bankbook saver. Thanks Dave. Scott B
Anyone know about the 365 2+2??? As a Californian, I'm interested in the 1975 or older for smog hassle reasons.
And why would the 83 have body-colored bumpers? ..and how unusual for the car in Houston to have hail damage all over the car, even though he claims it was under a heavy car cover. and why was the glass not broken? Selective hail? Or an angry ex-spouse, perhaps?
Actually the hail damage car has the look of long years of neglect to add to the body damage issues. As for the 83, I think that the body color bumpers a la the 412 paint scheme are an improvement over the stock black bumpers and rear valence. John
I haven't seen the car. Its been for sale here for quite some time. I can't remember if he wants $10k or $15k for it.
Well, you can have mine for $20K. Found a Caterham Seven so I'm a motivated seller!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ferrari-400i-1983-Ferrari-400i-nice-original-condition-dual-A-C_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6212QQihZ018QQitemZ280126814375QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW Cheers, Aaron '82 GTSi '83 400iA
