Drove this today and was transported instantly to 1986. Everything was the same but my hair was longer then. Either its a time machine or grandfather's clock. It is an excellent example previously owned by Fchatter Chris348 who I thank immensely for selling it to me. Some pics I took on my cell as I got a ride back on the plane to Las Vegas where the car is heading. With this I now complete the Tri-fecta. I've owned a carbed GTB, a QV spider, and now a 328 GTS. I must like these things. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Welcome back to the addiction.......... Not that we can't stop any time....... really, we can....... for a bit......
Beautiful .. I have this car on my bucket list .. just haven't the tme to find a clean example and the market prices going up doesn't help Enjoy it .. looks very clean
I’ve been anticipating your post where you bought the BaT 308 last week. nice looking new ride. Congratulations.
Congrats! I think that 3.2 V8 is a jewel and the 328/Mondial 3.2 are one of the best driving Ferraris of all time. Perfect blend of modern while still being raw and visceral. It's the first model I suggest when anybody asks me what Ferrari to get (even when their budget is many multiples of the price of a 328) -- I really feel like it's a "must own" model for true car enthusiasts.
This is one of the finest moments of Ferrari ownership, Congratulations, Bob, enjoy in good health, she's beautiful!
Can't drive it for at least a month! Can't get an appointment at the Nevada DMV until July 3rd for registration. Its an out of state private party purchase so it has to be done in person.
I’ll be curious if you like the Tubi exhaust after putting some miles on it. Chris and I swapped exhaust last year, he wanted louder and I wanted stock.
That's unfortunate, but it will be well worth the wait. Maybe get a good can of wax and get her ready for that Vegas sunshine? In Ohio, we take out of state cars and the title to any dealer that will do an out of state inspection, which is just to verify the VIN on the title matches the car and they note the mileage, price is $3 dollars. That piece of paper with the out of state title and you get new title in 10 minutes. Sounds like Nevada does their own inspections.
She's going into the dealer for the T-belts, fluid change, and other things. The door locks don't work. Needs a new driver door window seal. I have the replacement parts. The throttle sticks a bit. Makes it hard to control the clutch slip at low speeds. She's in excellent shape but there's always something do to. Then a complete detail / cleaning. Hopefully all this before getting the registration and I can drive it on the July 4th holiday. In NV she qualifies for "classic car" plates. No need to get smog. I already have Hagerty Insurance on it.
I graduate high school today and I love these. Can I have a ride? I plane to buy one one day. But first I start college this fall. Pre-dental. Wish me luck! Tommy May 31, 1986
That interior pic looks EXACTLY like mine did (and could easily again)! I have those floor mats, though they aren't currently in use. I have that original shift knob, though not currently in use. I even have the little led light in the center of the console from an old alarm system, also not currently in use. ENJOY!
First tank of gas! Shell Premium... only the best for baby. Took a chance and drove down the street to fill up. I tried the A/C today. Surprisingly when the car is moving it works pretty well. I do remember them being better than 308's. People love this car. I was in the station filling and 2 people stopped and asked me about it. Most common question so far? "What year is that?" Too bad I can't drive it for another month. DMV appointments are backlogged in Nevada. Image Unavailable, Please Login
They are a great little car. Its so nice sometimes to drive an old school sports car no matter the make. All this new stuff is wonderful..but there isn't much connection with the car anymore. The 328 is wonderfully old school with some refinement..small in size, great sounds, evening drives with the roof off..not much is better..ok maybe a bit more power would be nice. They are heading up in value..so hang on to it.
Things you have to do to start this car that you don't on most modern cars 1) Get the key out of your pocket 2) Open the door 3) Put your right arm on the A pillar 4) Slide down into the seat 5) Put the key in the ignition but don't turn it yet 6) Reach down and find the seat adjustment 7) Pull up the seat adjustment 8) Slide the seat forward (repeat if necessary) 9) Press the clutch pedal to see if the seat is properly adjusted (adjust again if necessary) 10) Put on your seat belt 11) Turn the key and check if the gauges and lights are working 12) Turn the key until the starter turns on 13) WAIT for the engine to start 14) RELEASE THE KEY 15) blip the gas to get the engine to settle in 16) check if the alternator light is off. Blip throttle again if not. 17) WAIT. Watch for the temperature gauges to start to move 18) Look around 19) Lower the windows 20) Press the clutch 21) Move the lever to first gear 22) Move the lever to reverse gear 23) Raise the RPM a bit 24) Slip the clutch until fully engaged while being careful not to stall the engine 25) Enjoy the rest of your day.
FINALLY! Registered. New plates with the original "Hollywood Sport Cars" frame. Bad thing about Nevada: DMV (and most government services) are backed up. Good thing about Nevada: Classic plates costed $135 for the year. NO sales taxes on Private Party sales. No front plate AND NO emissions test or inspections for classic cars. (Californians eat your hearts out) I drove it a little today in the morning. Its 115 deg today so better not in the hot sun. When it warms up its much better. The gearbox frees up, the engine idles better, and I think my sticky gas pedal is a little less sticky. No issues at all with temps. Hey and I even got the radio to work with my Satellite radio app! Next gotta get it to the dealer for a once over and new T belts and some minor things here and there. Waiting for them to have some room for me. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Arizona is similar regard to the cheap registration and no emissions testing, just need to register as a collector car but you receive a regular plate. As far as the heat, I start my drives at 5am in the summer. Now go enjoy that car.
