Pretty sure it's not. Among the service papers included with the sale was a receipt for a collapsible antenna. The roof of the car is clean, though. No marks or holes where an antenna used to be.
It appears the US cars didn't come with any antenna and the right rear was a favorite spot to place an electric one. Mine has an identical one to yours and I have seen a number of others with similar installations. Even though there is suppose to be factory wiring in the roof for one it is much easier to install on the back and probably the "preferred" location from a dealer perspective.
I don't think 348 came with an antena or radio from the factory. There was an antena wire run to the roof so that is where most dealers put them when a stereo install was done. I've seen many that still don't have an antena, it's on the roof where the factory obviously intended it to be, or it's on the rear right quarter panel. Mine is on the back panel also. It is power and goes in and out, but is several feet shorter then the one on this car. I'd swap that out to something a bit smaller, it looks like one of those old CB whip antennas on a car that small. EDIT: now I read Joes post #30 and see he's already talked about it.
I'm not too concerned. The antenna only goes up when I turn on the radio. So far that has only happened once, and only for about five minutes. After that I shut it down again so I could listen to the engine, which in my opinion is better than anything playing on the radio, anyway.

You guys weren't kidding! Took a buddy out for a ride yesterday and more people took pics. One guy (behind us) almost had an accident because he was trying to drive and take a pic at the same time. Went to the store today for milk (any excuse to drive the car!) and when I came out there was a guy taking pictures of it in the parking lot! It's weird and cool at the same time. Weird because complete strangers are taking pictures of my car, but cool because I've never had a car that other people liked so much they wanted to take pictures of it before. I told my wife today that we are never, ever selling my 348. My son will inherit it upon my demise.
Great stuff man!! You eventually get used to all the attention. Here is one example of a woman that followed me around for 10 mins before I pulled up and had a beer. She took some pics while I watched. lol Good idea, leave the car to the boy. Imagine how cool it will be to drive these cars around in another 50 years time?
