People are still using the scam because there are some people that live in a catatonic state, and will fall for the wailings of a con artist. The 'conned', think they're smarter than the 'conner', and will make a killing financially.

Greed is the biggest factor in why supposedly 'intelligent' people get taken in scams. That's why the Nigerian scams still proliferate.........there are enough dopes out there that will fall for anything!

Not to worry. I'm having dinner with one of their chief financial officer on Sunday. Of course I had to first send him some financial backing, but I'm sure he'll be delighted once his plane arrives from Botswana.

After advertising my car for sale during mid-2004, I kept getting similar e-mails from ghetto Nigerians. I also got two more from ghetto Nigerians posing as Englishmen (which I discovered, that they were Nigerian, from their heavy accent when they telephoned me from Nigeria). Consider this from a guy who calls himself "Ben" who and who e-mailed me that he was going to send me a wire transfer as soon as I sent him my car and $7500 (like I am Nigerian and was born yesterday):

--I gave you the whole info you might need to wire the funds to the agent but uptil now i have not heard from you, please let me know wheather you have sent the money so the agent will start coming over for the pickup immidiately.waitng for your soonest response on the details of the wire transfer ASAP--

Feel free to spam "Ben" if he is not yet in a Nigerian prison or has not yet shut down his e-mail. Also, normally, those transacting in cars worth more than $180K know how to spell and got out of the third grade with honors.
