As most of you know, my wife and I just welcomed our second child into the world, a daughter Avery. While we were away attending to this, it turns out the building owner where our business operates was carrying out what amounts to a seizure of our business we spent 3 hard years building up. I don't have the time and Rob doesn't have the server space to detail what has happened--it spans nearly 18 months. But it is in the hands of attorneys right now and is going to get really ugly. The way in which this was done is the height of sleaziness (not to mention it was while we were in hospital having a baby), and when I am able to tell the story you won't believe it. But in the meantime my wife and I are hunkering down and gearing up for a fight. It also means that we are cash poor and looking to move some items to bridge the financial gap until this is sorted and I can generate some sort of cash flow, just to keep us in food and diapers:). Here are some of the things we've had laying around that we're looking to liquidate. If you were ever tempted, it's a great way to help us out:

    Tiffany Somerset Ring, never worn
1/2 inch diamond cross necklace, barely worn
    Assorted rings
1995 Fender Twin Amp, purchased new and barely used
    Assorted signed Schumacher visors
Lots of F1 merchandise, most signed
Tag Heuer 50th Anniv. F1 watch. Very limited, hand-distributed, never worn

There's more, and many of them are already listed somewhere in FerrariAds. I can send pics to anyone interested. This whole situation literally fell in our laps late Friday and we've been dealing with it non-stop. Thanks for taking the time to read this far, and even if you aren't interested in any items, think good thoughts for us.

OK, so, congrats on the baby.

I think we're all going to be on pins and needles waiting to hear the story. Sorry to hear.

Congrats on the daughter! :) The rest is just "stuff" and in the grand scheme of things doesn't matter. I'd post the signed visors in the collectables area.

    Good luck.

    *edit*
Try www.cstudio.net Collector Studio for the visors. They're a board sponsor and cary a LOT of items including items such as thiese.

He's a total scumbag. I have a conference with my attorneys in the morning. Hopefully we can get things moving, but I'm not counting on a quick resolution.

Have you/are you going to reopen at a different location? Do you know the status of the seized assets?

This type of thing always happens at the worst time.

I wish the best for you and your business.

Since I've seen my dad move to 5+ different buildings in the last 15 years of his business I know how big of scum a lot of property owners are. It's truly pathetic.

Many of you know that Melodie had a successful catering business for several years with heavy cash flow. What sucked is that she had a manager who she trusted with all of her cash and one day she realized it was all gone. All she wanted to do was cook and take the best care of her brides, but this scumbag 'manager' helped put her deep into a BK with the IRS, State and the EDD. It's horrible when bad things happen to good people, but unfortunately, it happens every day.

It had to have been tough for Jack to pony up with his situation, but I am glad he did. By using the word 'HELP!' in the thread title, he put a bit of his pride down and put his family first. That's a sign of a great family man. I'm hopeful most all of us can mirror his greatness and pitch in and help!

    Jack,

Sorry to hear of your troubles. I have heard some fishy stories floating around the Holiday Club about the owners and "connections" that the owners of your property have. Probably mostly rumors...but I have definitely heard an earful.

So sorry to hear about your problem especially with the welcoming of something so wonderful into your life! It seems now a day's people are doing whatever they can to make a buck no matter how scummy it makes them, a FRIEND of mine in the car business who I talked to every day 3-5 times a day for the last FOUR years ripped me off for a commision on a ferrari we sold his client, $4600! over $4600 he lost a good friend and who knows how much more business, also a client of mine who I sold a car for a while ago didn't pay attention when I told him how much I wanted and thought it was $2000 less, so since it's BOTH OUR FAULT for not clarifying the amount I would be getting I believe the fair thing to do would be to meet in the middle right? well I sent him a bill and so far have only been paid what he wants to pay me with no reply to the many emails I sent him, sorry for the rant and my problems right now are so petty compared to yours but until recentley I was literally living off of borrowed money hoping these two people would realize how shi tty they were being, well it's been 2.5 months and i still haven't been paid and no phone calls and no emails, if it wasn't for a deal I did last week I would have had to take a loan out just to pay my rent! meanwhile i made sure they were paid as quickly as possible because WE ALL needed the money!

The only thing that makes me feel better in times like these is that i'm a firm believer of "what goes around comes around" and "karma's a Bi tch" I hope your court case is swift and in your favour, be thankful of your family and remember one way or another the bas tard will get his one day!

We're working with two attorneys, one of whom specializes in bankruptcy law. We're exploring ALL options to cure this, and within each option lies many variables. The options basically break down as 1) settle, 2) sue 3) reorganizational bankruptcy 4) walk and reorganize. Essentially it comes down to the most efficient use of capital. I have had 2 investment groups step forward out of the blue (through acquaintances) to tell me they want to invest in either this spot or a new one.
