I am seriously considering taking the CGT in to be repainted white. I don't care about the value dropping if it does. I got it cheap and can't really get hurt. Your thoughts?

I am willing to have it disassembled properly, the roads are sandy as hell these days anyway!

Which shade of white are you getting? There are about 1001 shades of white you might want to consider by looking at a pantone colourbook? Thats if the body shop matches pantone colours.

I personally think an eggshell/chmpagne type white would look nice as opposed to a bleach type white.

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts.

I failed to ask the questions most intelligent exotic owners might ask....

    Engine out?
    Order all new rubbers?
    Pop the windshield out?
Any issues with removing paint from a CF surface?

Heres the white euro one thats haunting me in my dreams

I don't think it looks good in white. Of course it's a Carrera GT so it'll look good no matter what but other colors are much better in my humble opinion. It's your car though

    What color is it now?

it's really simple. if you bought the car cheap, and you can spend the 15k or 20k it will take to make it perfect and still be in the black; and if you are happier? then it's a no brainer. will it be less marketable? yes to someone that wants silver or black, but not to someone that wants white. there will be less of them, but if you bought the car right, you can get EXACTLY what you want, AND not get smoked? why not? who cares if it takes an extra 2 months to sell it instead of a silver one. you'll have the right car for you, and since it's your money, you should. it's not like you are going to lose 100k on it. make the car the way you want it, it'll cost less than a bad night at the blackjack table at the bellagio.

I'd say go for it.. just in my brief experience looking at CGT's it doesn't look all that hard to pull of a color change.

I still like the blue more than white, but that's just personal preference.. ;)

    White is absolutely brilliant.

Get a white with a slightly bluish tint to it. Ever so slight, like an electric white.

Please do it. Silver and black are so overplayed, yellow is too brash for this car, red is for Ferraris. I happen to think white is the most stunning of colors for the Porsche CGT. Royal Blue would be nice too.

I've always wanted to see a CGT done in white with flat black powdercoated wheels.

That would be me who made it ;) Thanks for posting.

If your going for the Same color as the rest of the Porsche Carrera GT's you will be going for Biarritz white or Barritz white. Im not quite sure on the correct spelling. Keep me updated on what you plan on doing, sounds like an interesting project. What is the production number on your Carrera GT?

The reason i made it was so everyone could learn and distinguish the colors easier :) Glad it helped you out. There is only one Carrera GT in Signal Yellow, Production #911 located in Cinncinati! Probally my favorite color on the Carrera GT :)
