During qualifying, the left and right side of the picture were cut off. I couldn't see the Q1 order on the left. It seemed to get fixed by Q3. I'm no techno-weenie, so I'm wondering if I can force my TV to show it all? Did anyone else notice? I do notice that when I watch HD TV the screen is wider vs. non-HD channels. Is the feed HD, and SPEED isn't condensing it to fit on my screen?

Someone mentioned that yesterday and I forgot to reply. I didn't notice any issues with my tv sets.

I noticed it too, but by Q3 it had been fixed. I'm guessing it was something on Speed's end with their feed.

You can actually set that on your TV or cable or sat box depending on what you're using. Go to the setting the says aspect ratio and play with that. it could be someone messing with the feed but I don't remember anything being cut off on my TV when I watched last night.

It was a Speed TV error. They fixed it by late in Q1 or Q2. Happened to all of us, so it's not a setting on your end. I'm sure someone in NC slapped themselves in the head. Hope it doesn't happen for the race!

So frustrating, wasn't it? I was trying to keep a mental note of times but the leader board on the left was completely cut off...

I don't know about you all but I'm pretty frustrated that races (among other programming) aren't shown online. That's just money waiting for them, be it ad-dollars or user fees. I'm very familiar with the live timing info available but that's such a silly little taste of our computers' and broadband connections' capabilities. When individual cars' telemetry can be selected, along with camera angles and other info anywhere in the world (to add to the broadcast or to substitute for it) I'll be a happy fan.

Until then: Crap Speed TV with cut-off borders. Grrr.

From Nick's comments that he posted while many of us were watching on Speed and here on FChat, we need to figure out how to get it from the BBC instead of Speed! But look at the bright side, at least we have Matchett, Hobbs and Varsha in lieu of some of the yo-yo broadcasters that we've had over the years on the other coverage.....i.e. Derek Daly for one. Speed needs to do some work with the "HD" quality.

Not to mention Hobbs sounding like he's cocktailing his way through the race.

Speed's video (titles and info aside) is a world feed so the BBC audio might be available to match it online. Perhaps via a pirate webcaster?

Still, what's up with no online option? FOM, Ecclestone, hello? Anyone awake?

I think it would mess with their current broadcasting contracts.

No matter what I did with my TV and cable box adjustments, the bottom half of the "crawler" showing the race positions at the bottom of my screen was cut off. I'm assuming it's an issue with my TV rather than the broadcast. (Only on the HD channel.)

Also, on my seven channel surround system, all the surround sound was coming from the back speakers and none from the sides. (I checked the adjustment and it was fine.)

FWIW, the crawler was not visible on my TV as well.
