Any of you who know me have heard of my fabled 355 Spider. I picked it up at Auto Sport Designs on Friday with plates in hand, ready to drive it for the first time in three years, just after a $26k engine rebuild and full service (thanks to WWoC!). After having just about the worst luck with any car I've heard of when it comes to service nightmares at each place it has been, Tom convinced me to sell it, saying, "What the he!! are you doing with 2 Ferraris in NYC! The 355 is your jinx - its perfect now, so leave it here and let me sell it for you." More is involved, but in the end, the car is up for sale I HATE making rational, logical decisions, because it SUCKS! Here are some pics: http://www.autosportdesigns.com/Sales/photopage.asp?ID=825
david, ur 355 is damn beautiful! sorry to hear that u will be departing from it. hopefully the car will find a caring buyer who will not garage queen it and not be afraid to drive it in the rain
good luck with the sale. i think the blue top looks GREAT on the car - a very nice touch. a matching blue tonneau cover would cap it off quite nicely, methinks. very pretty. sorry to hear about the maintenance messes. doody.
Thanks for the notes and support guys - that's why I posted a note about it here, not to sell it. The car is definitely amazing, but its been a disheartening ownership experience and all in all, doesn't make sense to keep right now anyway. But, if I don't get my price within the next couple of weeks, you guys'll see it out on our runs in the future. David P.S. Ed, I didn't drive it, bc if I did, it would have been that much more difficult to sell it - I think I'll need therapy after this one anyway -jk-
david, this might seem out of place for me to say, but have you considered keeping the 355 and selling the TR? the 355 is really really nice
David - Sorry to hear about the troubles with your 355. I saw her out at ASD a week ago. They also have another 355 spider there looks exactly like yours (only with a challenge grill). Reason I went out to ASD was to discuss a 355 GTS out at Lake Forest Sports Cars in Illinois. Damn nice looking car, but too late, the car had sold... Oh well. Best of luck on selling it!! It is in the right place!! - Hutch
David, Your car is really beautiful. I love the color combo and the condition is fantastic. I hope it goes into someone else's garage quickly so you can "move on." Best wishes, Andy
Thanks guys. I'm just reading the Enzo saga on the NY forum - guys, please understand I'm not trying to sell my car here, but thought I would give you what might be the final details about my 355 saga, especially after talking to many of you about it on our runs.
