I could use some help with a Ferrari 3 for a alternator belt and adjuster

I took my alternator off a while ago to have it rebuilt and I kind of forgot how the belt is supposed to go does the adjuster push up onto the outside of the belt or does the adjuster go in between the belt and the just downwards from the inside of the bell I know it's a stupid question and I'm sorry I've just been going through a lot and I just don't have it in my mind anymore I keep burning up alternators and belts I'm going to change my adjuster bearing I'm thinking maybe that's kind of hanging up a little cuz it feels kind of ****y and a little loose when you go to turn it but I don't remember how it's supposed to go on maybe if someone has a picture and just explain it to me I will understand it thanks guys I know it's a stupid question and I should already know it
